Joanna out here making actually useful and fun hack videos that don't involve potentially setting your house on fire. 5 Minute Crafts could never. Also, there's a specific brand of eraser called Moo that is specifically made so that the shavings clump up instead of crumble. It pretty much instantly becomes a kneaded eraser. I know it kinda defeats the point of a hack to use a specific, not widely sold brand, but it's fun to know regardless.

We used to make eraser clay in school all the time! Instead of erasing a blank sheet of paper, if you erase colored pencils, you can get different colors and then mold them into a cute custom eraser. I had so much of this in my desk. This was long before social media, so it's so cool to see how many other bored kids independently discovered the same weird things.

My friends and I would always make that DIY eraser putty in elementary school, so it's really cool to see it in one of your videos! The trick is to rub tiny pieces of eraser shavings between your fingers until it becomes malleable like an actual putty. It's really time consuming if you want to make a bigger putty but it's pretty fun.

Coconut oil is HIGHLY comedogenic, which means it can clog pores easily. So for those who are already prone to acne around the lips (like yours truly) I’d definitely use a different oil, such as jojoba or even grapeseed.

I remember doing paper mache bowls for a school project and I remember that you have to add multiple layers if you want it to be more sturdy. Just a quick tip for those wanting to try the last hack in the vid ☺️
@auntiesash2 жыл бұрын
you can smush the pulp on the outside of an upturned bowl to get a smooth interior finish & it will dry more quickly. Briefly nest another bowl over the top partway thru drying to smooth out the outside layer. This is a great, impromptu craft if you are stuck in a restaurant or waiting room with kids. You can usually find a napkin or tissue, some cup or bottle, & some water.

Please do not use food coloring in bath products! As it can stain not only your tub but your skin. Please make sure to only use Bath safe/made products for your soap and bath items!!

In the context of this DIY I think it's harmless to use a tiny bit of food colouring to make a pastel coloured clay, which then gets dissolved in so much water. However agree that it's a bad idea to use concentrated food colouring for anything related to skin or cosmetics

Another way to make those water pistols is to get bunchoballoons since they use a tiny rubber band to seal, they work the same way. Bonus aspect is these balloons are now biodegradable so when they pop or run out, they don't have to be cleaned up

OOOOH The bath bomb hack is great since I can never get the bath bombs to work with the molds. They always crumble or expand or foam up.
@maqaroon2 жыл бұрын
Yay hope it helps! It's not really a fizzy bath bomb but basically the same as LUSH bubble bath bars. I think the clay should work with molds as well, especially if you just leave it inside to dry!

Another (and probably cheaper) way to make fake blood uses corn syrup (or other similar syrup), chocolate syrup and water if you want it thinner! Adding peanut butter and/or starch to make it thicker is an option too, but obvs gotta be careful of allergies. It's edible, too! Tons of diff recipes out there 👍

The “professional” theatre blood that we used in the productions I worked on was basically corn syrup, colouring, and a minty flavouring. Your ideas are spot on!

My daughters make toilet paper bowls by placing the paper on the outside of the bowl and letting it dry. They're 8 and 11 so they leave them all over my house and it annoys me but I've always thought it was a pretty clever way to make extra bowls for their doll's tea parties.

Also with the putty rubber you could also make it into blu tack however you cant exactly stretch it anyways so youve got your ball of rubber shavings and then you gentyl mix in some glue best type of glue to use is like prit stick glue then when its mixed in you have to keep on like pressing it down and and like kneading it in your hand and then when its dry and like a blu tack you can add colour however this type of blu tack isnt great for stretching so if you need to have something in your hand to play with or something then just make this and i dont know if this works as a rubber
@OCEANTHINGS124 ай бұрын
For the kneaded eraser I heard somewhere that if it won’t stick together enough, you can erase on the sticky part of a sticky note to make it more clay like.
