Here I present a series of photographs of the village of Maryina Roshcha, near Ostankino, in the northern reaches of Moscow.
Today nothing remains of the original village having been swallowed by urban sprawl.

It is a great shame that nothing remains today of this attractive little village, apart from being a stop on the Moscow metro. I think we are lucky to have retained many villages within the Greater London area, such as Wimbledon, my London home, Hampstead, Highgate, Dulwich and Barnes......and their unique charm.
