Yes, it was a true story, although the movie wasn't historically correct on some points, it was a more of a glorification of the actual event. There were several instances where the director should have stuck to the real historical accounts. Like Ephialtes for example. Ephialtes was indeed a spy for the Persians, but he was not a “monster” or disfigured as they potrayed him to be. There is no history of him, other than his part as a spy. So that, in of itself, is just an example of poor direction of the movie, and history. Furthermore, the events that took place in 480 B.C., were very real. The best thing a person can do, is do research into historical events such as The Battle of Thermopylae. Just for historical sake. Here is a list of events that weren't true in the movie 300. The messenger in the beginning of the movie was not kicked into a giant water well. He was killed and thrown into a garbage pit with the other refuse, outside of Sparta. The Ephors were not diseased old men, covered in puss-filled bumps and boils. They were elderly magistrates that were chosen every year to govern Sparta. Xerxes was not 7 feet tall and full of jewelry. He was a man of average heighth, well educated and was extremely vengeful at finishing what his father started….Destroying Greece. The goat path was defended by the Phoenicians, but they thought the Persians were headed to their city, so they left their post at the path and ran home to defend their families. Leonidas was killed on the second day of battle, during which his body was fought over until the Persians gained control of his corpse. Forty years later, Leonidas's body was returned to Sparta where his body was rightfully burried, where now a memorium is built. The narrator or Dilios of the movie, was not sent back by Leonidas to pass on his message. He was actually a soldier who escaped or deserted the battle with another Spartan, later shunned by all of Sparta who then later tried to redeem himself in the Battle of Platea. It is said that he fought with ferocity and intensity but still did not win back his honor. The other deserter killed himself in shame.

300 movie കുറേ ഫിക്ഷൻ ഉൾപ്പെട്ടതാണ്, but സ്പാർട്ടൻസ് 300 പേര് വലിയ പേർഷ്യൻ സൈന്യത്തോട് 480bc യിൽ ആറ്റുമുട്ടി ചേർത്തുനിന്നതായി modern historians അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ആ യുധം നടന്നതാണ്. But ഫിലിമിൽ കൂറേ fiction ഉണ്ട് അത് historical മൂവീസ്, സീരീസ് ഒക്കെ ആസ്വാതകർക് ആസ്വാതനത്തിന് വേണ്ടി കുറേ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തും.
