Join me today at Maramec Spring Park In Phelps County, Missouri near St. James Missouri. I walk around the springs see some fish, and go for a Historic drive. Yes, I did spell Maramec Spring right. It was named before the education system was very good and they decided to keep it spelled that way. Meramec Spring Park instead of Meramac springs.

I worked in an arm of the peace corps (VISTA) back in the early 70’s. It’s changed a lot, but the park is the same. I still visit whenever I’m driving thru. Best park I’ve ever seen. Forget Yellowstone, Tetons , Branson ect. They also have a great small campground.

Awesome and informative. Hey man, next time you're around this way, check out the 19th Century Hotel Ruins at Meramec State Park. ( Do it during late Fall/Winter. It's in the woods but not deep in them. ) Some super cool big old fireplaces still standing. Meramec State Park, Sullivan, Missouri.

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned, but the gated off section in the cemetery isn’t the james family. Or not Lucy at least. Her grave is in the St.james cemetery that you’ll pass just before the city limits. There’s a small monument to her with stained glass and a brick wall around her grave

My family used to go there quite a lot when I was a kid. Lots of great memories. Another one we would visit often is Montauk State Park. I miss those beautiful clear springs and rivers. Would spend hours exploring as a child. Missouri is such a beautiful state. I miss these places very much!
