The top one seems more bright than the bottom one which sounds a nice Ballance.

The bottom unit is just a CD transport, to simulate a streamer. The DAC is on the top one, that haves a nice Philips TDA1541A.

I have an older cd player technics Model SL-P999 and I would like to convert it to a DAC input. it itself has a fantastic dac converter in it... is it possible to connect it in some way? through the module SPDIF to i2s? so I would make it a digital input.

Yes definitely! This CD player has 4 x PCM56P-J inside, which are simply brilliant! You may need a board to convert I2S to PCM63P and a USB or SPDIF input board.

hmm ok just why does the cd player have 4 identical PCM56P chips ??? board spdif optical to I2S is available everywhere. but I2S to PCM56P-J does not exist, or I don't know how you predate it? how could I make this board that would receive the signal from the I2S connector and send the signal directly to my technics CHIP PCM56P but on which chip? if there are 4 of them. if you are willing to help me in some way, I would be very grateful.. because I want to build a top DAC. this cd player costs from €1,500 to €2,000, but I wouldn't want to destroy it and do something I don't know.

​@@Marko-R Hi Marko: Your CD player have 4x PCM56P because it's better than 2x, no matter if it's running in differential or parallel mode. Less conversion errors, more accuracy, more dynamics, more clarity, more focus, more of everything. You can grab an I2S to PCM56P-J board on eBay from a first class guy called "chiurutu" - very communicative and helpful. Have fun with your audio projects!

Compreendo a sua questão. O vídeo serve apenas para mostrar ao proprietário do Marantz CD50 que pode utilizar a peça como um usual leitor de CDs, ou então como um DAC que pode ser ligado a um streamer.

Yes indeed! Just right now I have one playing a few tracks on my system. But, like any vintage CD player, to bring out its best, it needs some updates.
