Marantz PM7000N network integrated amplifier unboxing and deep unboxing

I bought the unit, love it. I was suprised to see the display having an odd reddish tint? Is it supposed to be this way?

Hello Mister Hxos plus and All, Thank you very much for your great review. I owned a NAD 320BEE (+ChromeCast Audio & Spotify) and Concept 20 Q acoustic speakers and I would like to update my System. I am really hesitating between : > Marantz 8006 (More Power, but much more ?) > Marantz PM7000N (Better quality streaming from Chromecast audio ? But less power than 8006 but a lot ? sound may be better on Spotify because of internal DAC compare to 8006) > For speakers, it would be only bookshelf (no more room at home)…Focal 906, BW 606S2 or wharfedale EVO 4.2 For the Amplifiers, I really need your (and all HiFiman who want to help me :P) point of view, advices and the amplifiers that you would pick up if you need to choose. Too much things in one box. I prefer pure stereo amplifier, with no DAC, WIFI, etc. The PM8006 will be my choice.

Depends on your budget. This one box produces good sound for the cost, and is easy to setup.

@bob van der tholen I am considering an upgrade from PM6006 + NA6006 to PM7000n. Is it worth the money and the hassle?

@Bob thanks, but the problem is Covid 19, because the hifi stores are closed, only eshops open. Bis audio have a good deal , 899 € for the marantz pm7000n . Cheers from Slovakia

Hey Daniel I have the 8006 amp and the 6006 DAC, I imagine that the combo will be significantly better. The 7000 is $1000 US, but you can find the 8006 amp for 849 at safe and sound HQ. There is only 10 watts more per channel but the capacitors and power supply I immediately noticed are less beefy in the 7000. Also there is bound to be a less precise DAC in the built in unit, especially to get to the 1000 price point. I would go with the separate pieces, you should be able to get the 6006 for 599 no problem. To sum it up I would say they might sound similar, the separate pieces will have more resolution and dynamic headroom.

I have the pm7005 and i don't like the sound quality of the built in DAC. I bought the na6006, connected to pm7005 and now i'm happy with the sound quality of my system. Also when i press source direct on my amplifier (DAC is turned off) sounds better.
