So wrong, but hey ho, everyone else is doing it. I will give you as a taster some reasons why not to do the B skip. BTW, the B skip is based on the misinterpretation of the biomechanists' term (pawback) for the foot moving back from the furthest forward (still) point to initial ground contact. 1 - It teaches the brain to activate the muscles in a way that is different from the way you run, just look at the video, no-one runs like that. 2a - It stops the hamstrings and glutes disengaging from their 'pulling' role at contact (however the medial hamstrings become active at the beginning of the stance phase,18-28% of stance and this is also thrown out) and puts extra strain on them whilst 2b again it's teaching the brain the wrong motion. 3 - It delays the proper engagement of the hip flexors so again the timing is thrown out and the brain learns the wrong timing. 4 - The foot is contacting the ground entirely differently from how we run (toe is not dorsiflexed upon contact), again throwing timing out and teaching the brain the wrong motion. 5 - The gastrocnemius muscle activity starts just after loading at footstrike, again timing is compromised. I will stop there. Don't take my word for it, Greg McMillan explains the reasons why this is not a good thing to do clearly in one of his excellent books.
