That is a Trilogy supercharged Marauder, the sound is unmistakeable. I own a Marauder myself and have the record for 1/4 mile non-mechanically modified, only a Diablosport PCM reprogram: 14.455 @ 96.87 MPH. I have been to many of our meets and seen and heard quite a few of the Trilogy cars. Stock they run right around 15 seconds, Trilogy modified alone (includes a PCM reprogram) ~12.5.

FYI for those who think they know something!, The 03-04 Marauders did NOT come stock with a supercharger .they have a 4.6 DOHC V8 that was borrowed from a Mustang Cobra with a few mods specific to the car.For those of you mopar dudes ,A challenger with a 400 + horse power 6.1 Vs a 4.6 DOHC V8 with a super charger just makes it a more even race! With the boost at about 9-12 pounds the horse power between the Two cars would be about the same so it then becomes a drivers race!

big mustang why do people still not know the marauder does NOT have a cobra motor. Instead, it’s the 4.6 Dohc from the Mach 1 and Lincoln’s. The cobra motor has a forged bottom end. They actually aren’t that fast stock, but they feel fast and are a blast to drive.

@@truevtx1800rider actually you gave wrong info. The Marauder got a cobra engine. the 99 through 2001 Cobra Mustang didn't come with forged anyting. The Mach 1 03 04 same engine as the Mercury Marauder. the Lincoln Aviator yes got it too. the Lincoln Mark 8 had a totally different underpowered 4.6. B head double overhead cam engine. So technically yes the marauder got a cobra engine the cobras the first one that had the sea style engine from 99 to 2001. The Terminator Cobra Mustang the 2003-2004 yes came with forged internals that's the only difference. And lastly very few people even really know what the marauder is. still to this day I've owned 11 of them and people still ask me what kind of Grand Marquis is that. Lol very cool cars unfortunately ford didn't advertise very well. so not many people even know what they are.

They should have supercharged the marauder from the factory. They weren't even too impressive for their timeframe. 0-60 in 7.5 was quick for a 4000lb car but not too quick compared to other sports cars. But a supercharger definitely made them able to take on muscle cars. I'm betting the reasoning behind the marauder getting an N/A engine was that they wanted to make it quick, but didn't want to make it as quick as the mustang.

4.6 isn't a big motor at all, yet the Merc is a BIG car. Yeah it has a S/C on it, gotta do what ya gotta do. If you really want to make one of those or a crown vic go you need cubic inches. And that means one thing, GM LS motor. Plenty have done it, and a few are hitting the 9's with a stock looking and sounding full size 4 door sedan. My 06 interceptor crown vic is getting a GM swap also. Nothing wrong with the 4.6, it's just I like the force of large displacement torque and the only way to get that and stay Ford is to stuff a 429 or 460 in it. And trust me, I have thought about it. But daily driveability won over so I must cross over to the dark side and go with the General. I can build a stroked to 6.8L 6.0 LS engine for a lot less then a mod motor and get huge torque that is daily driven friendly and get around 450 to 500 at the wheels on motor. Add a 150 shot and things get real fun. Not the fastest one around for sure, but it will still surprise the hell out of a whole lot of people.

It's be loud as hell with that. I have an 04 mercury grand marquis 2v 4.6 with stock cats with crown vic H pipe, with two 2in 2 foot chip foose magnaflow glass packs with 2 inch tail pipes with 2 foot 3in tips. Not super loud but sounds good. Also if you go with flowmaster (good brand don't get me wrong) Watch there video on there sounds it'll help you pick if you choose flowmaster.

@MrNiko14 Maruader has more power stock. Not much but still more. The power goes from least to highest from crown vic to crown vic PI and crown vic lx sport (the pi and sport are the same I think?) then to the maurader. Add a blower to your vic and itll have more power. My sport has a kenne bell twin screw and it blows the doors off a shitload of cars at lights

i just raced a 6.1L challenger form a light today, i have a 99 4.6 2 V mustang with a kenne bell, 117,000 miles on the stock motor. it wasent even close, i hit second and was gone, i felt bad for the guy.i havent got to race any at the track yet , never any there. i dont belive a driver would make a differance for that car, they are just slow!

I can understand that. I worked for Buick back in the 90's and if it had the LT1 engine (made 300 horses too) it just might outrun a Marauder in the quarter mile on a good day. You could get the LT1 in the 94 - 96 models IIRC. Still, the interiors, though pretty good, were not nearly as racy as a Marauder: leather seats, front buckets with side support, console shifter with oil and volt gauges. But the kicker is the suspension. I've heavily modified mine; it handles like a roller skate on a rail. But stock it was damn good for a big car, a bit of understeer on hard corners but it was manageable. The Marauder is a police interceptor *interceptor!* You can catch the Panther police cars in it. That Roadmaster wasn't bad, but it would feel like a cabin cruiser to me now, wallowing like a hog in the turns by comparison. I would probably feel very uncomfortable in one now.
