Blizzard Christmas Day Neighborhood Hero The Toughest Driveway Bobcat T66 Snow Blowing

I almost let another neighbor down not realizing how much they depended on my Bobcat T66 snow blower during a storm. My neighbor shares a nice story of my son being a good neighbor. By the grace of God nothing broke and she helped another neighbor that had a tough horse shoe driveway. I will have a Blizzard recap video in the future. If the metal is warm on the snowblower and you bring it outside and start using it right away it will tend to clog. If you bring it outside and let the metal get the same temp as the outside temp it won't tend to clog. Nice video.

That Bobcat is the boss. Find your comments interesting on tractors vs skid steer and how much snow you can clear without straining the machine. Skid steer type machines are powerful and you are up front were the work is and have confidence on what your blowing. Clearing snow is somewhat meditative and calming; I love it. And if you can help your neighbors then its even better.

About the Raccoon, my mother taught me everything is hungry. They had a big lot on the river, and she’d walk with the dogs way down to the woods by the river and put all scraps and stale bread for the critters. She was so kind in her way. Plus she had a badger family and a fox family who reared their young in her woods. Too this day, and I’m 70 now, the pain in my heart for my parents and grandparents at Christmas has never left me. I understand.

Susan you made my morning I love stories like this. I lost my parents years ago. I'm typically not in a good mood at Christmas I believe because I'm thinking of my parents and grandparents they were amazing. My father use to tell me how he dreamt of his mother and father I do the same thing often they are very real dreams. I try to remind myself that it is the circle of life. Its important to have the driveway cleared of snow. Even if you dont have to go anywhere the point is for emergency services to have access, or for your egress. Imagine having to escape a burning house with 3 feet of snow in the driveway.

I don’t know why people wait to the end of the snowfall to clear their driveway? If they were out there several times during snowfall it would take a fraction of the time to clear and less work for the equipment. Growing up in Chicago I would start plowing the driveway at 4 inches. People have no common sense.

R5 most plowing contractors wait until it stops snowing before they plow. In a typical storm that is efficient and works. The weather forecast is not always correct. In this case is was extremely accurate and small snow blowers that would be fine were overwhelmed. I've never had this much snow. Also the media is constantly saying to stay indoors due to the severe -30-60 wind chill with 75mph winds. In the end there is no fowl we help each other. Oh also Im not getting up in the middle of the night to clears snow. Thank you this who were able did clear snow every couple of hours.

Good question! JD would have strained and taken 2,3 times longer to clear the snow. The industrial machine just powered through the snow. Bobcat is a coincidence building machine very very strong.

360 cams are nice and have a place but inside the glass fishbowl of a skid-steer unfortunately isn’t one of them. They are great mounted outside of any moving vehicle/equipment. I personally think you’d be much better served with a regular go-pro mounted to front window. That way the depth perception is accurate and it more clearly show the prog that you make moving snow. Just my 2cents worth. Thanks for the entertainment

I won't say where (Want to respect your privacy) but I suspect we live close to each other. That day was crazy. My beast of a snowblower struggled at times which kinda bothers me. I prefer to be over prepared always. I see a tractor like you have in my future. This machine however is a whole other animal. I use these in construction. What made you decide to get one?

Stephen thank you for respecting my families privacy...I'm sure you are right on our locations. The women in my family don't feel comfortable with the public and viewers showing up at our house. I try protect them the best I can. They are proud of the channel but cautious. I don't think you should be beat yourself up over the your snowblowers performance. My neighbors have struggled with snowblowers and things break...and the snow was overwhelming for machine and man. considering the news was insisting we stay indoors if we are older and health compromised. I wanted a machine where I could rent attachments easily apposed to buying, easy to change attachments, and could do side jobs for my company. The track loader fit the bill, hopefully I will stay healthy this year and can put it to work for paying customers. I'm not sure how big your property is but there are so many equipment choices for you...so many. If you have more questions send in a new separate comment and it will show up and I will respond. Can I ask because your machine is loaded? What does that machine cost minus snowblower. I got a quote locally for every option available on one, even strobe. Maybe in front of openings where you can’t throw the snow far enough to reach a yard or area where there would be no foot or motor traffic. TT sometimes I have to do that as I don't want to blow it in the street, or in the driveway. So I blow it with the win on the grass and sometimes have to re blow snow. When there is a choice to blow to the side will always do that.
