After at least 40 years on guitar, it’s super apparent that there are very few ironclad rules on how to finger this instrument. So glad you’re breaking down some of the rules and showing some other ways that might work out better for a lot of us.

Nice lesson. A couple of suggestions: [1] The on-screen tabs at the bottom don't work. When paused, the intrusive YT panel gets in the way. Maybe you could consider putting them on the top for future videos? [2] It looks like a good finger exercise and memory test. In some other video, can you include examples of how this learning can be applied in writing songs or solos, etc.? I tried the 5:08 sequence on a random backing track, and it sounded good, but more examples of applications from an expert like you could be very useful. Thanks!

Recently discovered your channel and had to leave a comment, both to appease the mighty engagement algorithm, and to say thank you. You're explaining things I've heard from a dozen other "KZbin Guys"™️ in ways that make much more sense to me. I really appreciate the wisdom you're giving out! Hope to catch you live in Cleveland, preferably when the weather gets better ❤ ✌️😎

i had actually been working on something similar to this, really cool. the only downside is the extensibility going to the next logical step of 7th chords. makes some of the fingerings really hard if you try and keep the same concept of true arpeggios.
@marbinmusic10 күн бұрын
With this concept you have to see 7 chords as upper structures triad over a bass note
@paradoxsc2clan3 күн бұрын
@@marbinmusic yah, you can also combine relative minor triads for 7ths, or relative 7 for some interesting exension options or relative second.

Whoa, right off the bat you have said what the rest of the KZbin guitar teachers never say. This is not set up like the piano, and that’s why I’m having trouble transitioning from my blowing instruments to the wonderful guitar. They will have everything tabbed, and then it doesn’t make since. Thank you for the clarification!!

Your observation on diminished triads is spot on with what's happening with me right now. I can easily play m7b5 and diminished 7th, but can't play diminished triads properly! I'll spend some time on those to see if I get them a bit better under my fingers. Thanks for another great video!

As a new player your videos, especially the ones that approach topics in a less “mainstream YT guitar education video” approach, do wonders for my learning. Thank you. You are a great teacher! This one made some things move around and settle in my head and finally got some of the contextual elements of CAGED to click, especially the diagonal connection between shapes. Can’t wait to plug in and start practicing some of this. Looks to be great for some interval/ear training as well.

以G B E弦為例 三種排列為: ❶GCE ADF GBE ACF BDG(12fret=GBD) ACE BDF ❷CEG DFA BEG CFA BDG CEA DFB ❸EGC FAD EGB FAC DGB EAC FBD 4.在DGB弦 ADG弦 EAD弦这个模式会重复 你還可以探索open voicing的排列😊
