it's very frustrating to see characters be snatched and changed into unrecognizable illegitimate copies as for the slendies mansion crap I feel like it would be okay if it was like.. a pirates of the Caribbean thing or suicide squad, but I feel like there's a lot of fetishizing of mental illness and disabilities, which sucks I wish that people would be normal about the characters as it makes me uncomfortable to see I also think that there must be some sort of mental health issue that explains the fetishization of serial killers, as real killers do get fans who do want to have relationships with them... I would much rather people use a fictional character to .. whatever that is, than risk their actual lives in pursuit of actually dangerous people before they get a chance to get help they very clearly need and of course we all know there where incidents that could've been avoided had the fandom been more responsible and reasonable and not treat fairy tales as reality online so maybe I'm wrong personally I like cheesy camp horror stories that have a copy paste deep fried quality to them, so maybe I just am hoping that one day creepypasta will go back to being that, what it used to be before my generation ruined it ={ that said, I like when people make art of their old cringe murderhobo's from ten years ago, I like seeing art done by what is very obviously a kid who will grow to cringe at themselves but hopefully come to appreciate that their cringiest passion led them to be writers or artists at least as a healthy hobby/outlet, it gives me an almost parental feeling that I want to emotionally and metaphorically hang it on the fridge and show off to my non existent friends like, look at that, babies first handprint isn't that adorable? I wish I could say I hate creepypasta, that the worst fandom in existence ruined the good bits or I love it and can't live without it, so fite me u heckin scroobz but I just.. have a lot of strong ambivalence towards the cursed thing as a whole, but I can say that I prefer to binge watch marble hornets over binge reading creepy copypastas so, maybe the flaw with creepypasta is that it was never supposed to have a fandom

This. I was a Creepypasta fan long before I watched Marble Hornets, I still am and now I also love Marble Hornets, but *man* did the CP fandom do him dirty with the bishounen makeover! The CP version was uninteresting to me, but I fell in love once I saw the real deal. The cheesecake joke was cute until I found out it started as fat-shaming harassment in the comments section on MH vids. Hoodie wasn't treated with justice in his CP makeover either, but the CP version is a much more stark contrast in Tim.

I use to have a Creepypasta RP and the fanon Tim was what I thought I liked, then I saw Tim from Marble Hornets and was like “ew” (mind you I was in 5th grade) now I look back and go “I was a asshole.” I’m terrified every time I see fanon Tim now and I still have Creepypasta characters in an active RP, but I’m trying to mix together what I would RP Tim as before as to not like- change everything, but let’s just say I am dropping most of the fanon shit, but keeping as a “worker” (I might just change him to be spy ;) )

Same, at first I thought it was some cheap ripoff/competition of Creepypasta and didn't like that it existed. Entering the MH fandom in 9th grade with new eyes after I had left the Creepypasta fandom at the end of 6th-7th grade was amazing for me, but also quite a wake up call for me after realizing how bad the CRP fandom had gotten and that I hadn't given the MH series a chance when I was younger. I have since re-entered the Creepypasta fandom along with still being in the Marble Hornets fandom. Marble Hornets had not only introduced me to a series that was better than I ever imagined, but also introduced me to other Slendervese content such as EverymanHYBRID, TribeTwelve, and many others. I shutter whenever I think of the way CRP characters are portrayed, not just the MH characters. but also all the characters as a whole were twinkified or got the hot anime badboy treatment.
