Marble Kingdoms 15

Not just a marble battle, but the entire war.
Armies travel randomly across the map, engaging in combat if they meet. Once conquered, towns will produce more fighters for the player. Whenever the army goes to the home city or a friendly town, it will reinforce itself with fighters.
Fighters gain experience by scoring kills. If a fighter gains enough experience it will level up, gaining perks like additional hit points, speed and/or equipment.
Destroy all the enemy kings and armies to win!

Noah, The Giant Knight fought in 37 battles, in which he won 36 of those battles.The only battle he lost was against Gilodis and Croakenberg .In that same battle he was forced into a corner and being beaten down by blue soliders, the only reason he managed to escape was by manhandling a blue knight that had his sword stuck into his shoulder

Reward: "Unit gets bigger, + 1HP" But that makes their hitbox much much bigger too, making themselves 10 times easier to get hit instead. It has a supermassive drawback

It's one of those rewards that I'm not quite sure if it should give more health to accommodate or what. Because it seems like only the Captain level guys get any kind of real buff from that and that's just because their size basically is their damage.

I think +1 hp is a huge buff to a inexperienced army and debuff to experienced ones, cause that 1 hp do little if you have 3 or more, but increased amount of damage that marble get really hurts. Also I think that bigger size is more a debuff if enemy's army is bigger than yours, in that situation bigger vulnerable spots can cause really quick death of experienced soldier, like we seen in the video.

@@lostmarbles2d What about limiting the increase in size to just the weapon, so the marble holding it won't suffer from the increased hitbox? Or maybe increase the HP bonus to compensate for the increased hitbox? As it is now, the bigger size bonus looks more of a drawback than a reward...

It's funny how the most badass fighters always end up being from destroyed kingdoms. Gilodis and Croakenberg were GOATs here, and watching NoahZou 1v1 the Phantom Mage was pretty epic I think there needs to be a prince/princess marble in each castle with the ability to retreat when (not if) the king is killed, who can reestablish the kingdom if they make it to an outpost without dying. It would give factions a second chance, which would be nice since right now invasions are basically no contest.

Yea, I'm beginning to think that's a good middle ground. In the previous build where cities are simply conquered, the games are endless and not very interesting. Allowing one chance to re-establish using a prince/princess seems like it could work.

I always wait eagerly for the next episode of Marble Kingdoms, it is by far my favorite ongoing marble series. When the community post appeared some time ago, I filled it with the knoweldge that the chances of my name ever appearing would be slim. For at least 10 years I have been playing online games as Gilodis, so that's the name I put in the poll. I had not noticed the thumbnail, clicked it on my phone from the notification list so it was too small to read! Imagine my absolute joy when not only a marble was promoted to have that name, but it also ended up being such a cool character to follow and top 3 overall in the end. Too bad his saga had to end, but he was promoted after his king had already been slain, never got a chance to defend his castle, had to fight for scraps, and after spending so much time alone, seeing his brother in battle Croakenberg fall had him with very little left to live for. Here's hoping his legacy lives on and another marble takes his name in future episodes, and even better, lives up to it! o7

Some of these names are becoming downright silly! I’m pleased to say that Captain Noah had my unwavering support ever since his beginning game assault on blue. I was at first appalled and nearly gave up hope then and there if THIS was the opening strategy of green. Meanwhile the other marble kingdoms are attacking small settlements and gaining ground. But then green fucked shit up so hard. Captain Noah was like Odysseus - a brazen but excellent game manager from the start and a true warrior when he needed to step up and fight. He recognized the severe threat that blue posed, especially having such absurdly handsome and strong fighters in their peoples. Crushing their king at the start demoralized the loyal captain, whose absurd handsomeness couldn’t save him in the end. But blue are brutal fighters down to the very last stand of Ivan

After a gruesome battle, Gilodis Azure, Commander of the Sky kingdom's army had managed to secure victory against the rogue Silver faction. As a reward for his bravery, him and his men were bestowed the power of Superstrength. Energized by this divine gift, they immediately attacked another Silver garnison sure of their victory...but the result wasn't the one they expected. Every blessing comes with a price...and this one was particularly heavy...Gilodis and his men were indeed stronger...but at the cost of their speed and soon enough, the inevitable occured : The Sky faction's last soldiers started to fall one after the other, even Croakenberg the second in command despite being renownedfor his stamina. Eventually, Gilodis put an end to the fight, but it was too late : only him and a nameless soldier had survived... bitter. And it is in this poor state : bruised, exhausted, hurt, weak and mentally challenged that Gilodis entered on the field that would be his last. Just a second before dying, by the hand of the Crimson large army's soldiers, Gilodis thoughts turned toward his kingdom, his friends...his king...and a smik appeared on his lips as the blade of his slayer slashed his abdomen, sending him toward the realm of darkness. That day, a hero had fallen.

It was a shame for the blues, Gilodis in fact could have avenged the blues and defeated Zoe, but because of the stupid reward +1HP, but an increased hitbox, Gelodis’s army was defeated by the first homeless people, whom in fact they should have defeated easily, and then the reds, which simply because of the same hitbox did not allow Gelodis to turn around. A disgusting reward that actually gives a severe debuff.

Captain Heck's victories were frequently very pyyrhic; he'd lose a lot more men than he'd need to, which inevitably ruined the early momentum that red had. TBF NoahZuo was kinda in the same boat but unlike Heck he had the combat expertice to cinch an victory against all odds.

The three MVPs in the video from third to first in my opinion. Number 3: Gilodis from blue. Blue may not have won, but gilodis went berserk while he was alive with a complete slaughter. He also had Croakenberg on his side. They were a force to be reckoned with. Gilodis had 49 kills, and Croakenberg had 19, which added up to 68 total kills! 2: NoahZou of green team, taking on several 20 menned bandit fights on with his army and coming out on top time and time again. In fact, he just wanted to fight the bandits to pass time in order to let the reds gain more men and make it a fair fight. The bandits had other plans though. They consecutively and ruthlessly pulled off execution after execution with zero mercy. He has a final kill count of sixty kills, almost matching the 68 that croakenberg and gilodis had combined and he went solo. Finally, coming in first place is NzeSwaY of the green team. This was more of a short term battle. He only had one battle, but it proved he wasn't going down without a fight, going mostly solo against the reds with one other guy that died immediately, it was one vs 28 and somehow he managed to kill 22 reds solo, leaving 6 left. He carried the green team. If you guys have any other opinions about who may go on top, let me know. I'd be glad to hear and fight for or against suggestions. But as everybody says, this is only an opinion. Please be respectful towards my opinion and I will do the same to yours.

What makes him impressive is the fact that he went completely solo and killed 22/28 of the army he was up against, whilst gilodis usually had an army with him in battle. Think of the blood knight from episode 3 even though they severely outclass all three of these guys combined.

(Reason: it takes about a month for an episode to be released, so there might be a chance a name will never be used.) Suggestion 2: Before an episode, there will be either a wheel of fortune thing or a plinko machine which picks a single buff for the episode (the buff are the same for all players), which can be Level 1 Squad (Captain always included, this is also why I suggested "Captain Kim"), doubled home city population, or a giant plinko machine will be added whenever a king dies (from MK 10) alongside the bandit plinko machine for whoever killed that said king (MK 11 onwards). Suggestion 3 (optional): A neutral army (composed of 1 Captain, 1 Warrior, 3 Archers, and 3 Fighters) would spawn somewhere on the map, equally far away from every cities.

I miss the time where every marble took two hits to take down. What was it, twelve, thirteen? That was the most interesting one, in my opinion. This is still really good, but that made for much more complicated battles, with less of a focus on single, invincible heroes and more massed troops. I also thought that the capturing castles thing was really cool, though maybe only for the larger ones.

Maybe there could be like a barricade on the two sides! Imagine the castle has a keep and the defending archers can shoot out from the ramparts, but the attacking soldiers have to strike them say… 3 to 5 times. This also would prevent the king from meandering out from his troops into certain death for no apparent reason when they could stay behind in the hold.

So to clarify, we keep the same castle design with the two entrances on either side, but add two brown lines at the start of the battle symbolizing a sturdy wooden gate. These lines don’t let anything through except defenders arrows and take a fixed amount of damage from each strike of a weapon from the attacking soldiers. One on each side reduces the chances of a fluke suicidal king while still keep the fight fairly balanced

Notable characters that have been slept on: 1. King Deardoff A king who was forced out of his castle, and lost all of his soldiers. He raised armies of farmers instead, but this was not enough, as he lost them too. After he tried to lay low in a village, he came faced to face with his own demise. A band of several legendary kingslayers had hunted him down and were now knocking at his door. They were the strongest force at the time, and yet were almost all slaughtered by the fallen king. The mad king felled 4 kingslayers within a minute, leveling up with each one. Unfortunately, the last one left was far too powerful for a single man to defeat. He died valiantly. 2. Yellow Hero (from episode 4) The start of this episode had all armies intersect in the middle of the map. He barely survived the very first of these and persisted through the rest by the skin of his teeth. Having miraculously beat the impossible odds so many times, he very quickly became the most powerful soldier in the map. I would guess that he probably had one of the highest consistent kill counts in the series, as he would solo entire armies back when marbles could not retreat from battles. He eventually defeated a king. Now adorned with his new title of kingslayer, he tried to return home only to encounter the legendary orange duo. At the time, the orange duo had just began their long list of exploits, so their 2v1 was relatively fair. Although he almost managed to kill one, they used their numerical advantage to tragically cut his career short. He never reached past level five but one could imagine that he could have eventually reached level 7 at his pace. He definitely survived the sort of situations that other heroes would have died in, even before reaching a plot armor level.

7:00 there a battle between heroes commences, as the famed hero Heck and the wounded Hero Gilodis meet. Mages definitely need some improving. Archers seem to have a somewhat good accuracy, but mages have less than 1/10 accuracy, it seems. Even for their fire power, that makes them too weak for a special unit. Some things I think could be REALLY interesting for this: 1- Don't destroy castles, make them reduce to a common settlement after being conquered. 2- Make it possible to raise the level of a settlement to a castle if there is no castle, raising a unit to become king. 3- Make the map bigger with a LOT more neutral/bandit settlements at the start. 4- Make reward "bandit camps" that spawn white armies appear as settlements as the game progresses, but these disappear once destroyed. It should only be possible for them to spawn where no army passed for a while and have a very strong attraction force to armies nearby. Destroying them gives a reward to the army. 5- Make settlements and castle farther from enemy territory send reinforcements to settlements near enemy territories and make armies have a much stronger attraction force to enemy settlements near their own territories than those farther away. These 5 changes would make it longer, but would also create stronger units and stronger armies with more rewards and more high level units with kings taking longer to be killed and a possibility of a new king being crowned if certain conditions are met after the death of a king.

It would be coll if once a hero of a faction without a king reaches level 5 or so, he went to a nearby friendly settlement and became a new king. That way, some ridiculous comebacks would be possible. P.S: I was rooting for Green this game, since their starting general had the best name. And some of the best moments. PPS: The bigger weapon hitpox and +1 hp is not at all a good tradeoff for a bigger body hitbox. Maybe damage should be increased too?

My least favourite part of this series continues to be the spearmen and their absolute uselessness. While special units like the double axes and the archers have their ups and downs compared to the common swordsmen, the spearmen are utterly worthless and sometimes even detrimental. While their spears have a long range, it is betrayed by their horrible aim and their extremely sluggish turn rate. So many times I watch them walk right into an enemy with their weapons turned the other way. While I understand the marble movements are mostly random, the other units make up for their aim by being able to turn fast enough to still hit their enemy. The shields of the spearmen also do not do much to help them survive. The shields of the guardsmen are not only much bigger, but they are on the opposite side of their sword, which is itself a very capable defensive weapon that can deflect enemy attacks. The shields of the spearmen don’t have any synergy with their main spear weapon and very rarely actually do anything. All of this combines into a unit that is both frail to enemy attacks and incapable of scoring many kills. They can’t effectively gain experience to promote to stronger variants, nor can they stay alive if the somehow do promote. All they are good for are meat-shields who clog up a marbles army and get in the way more than they help. I know this series isn’t supposed to be ultra serious, but the spearmen are supposed to be a reward for taking over their respective camp. That reward should be properly granted, at least so they’re on par with the other special units.

11:45 Gilodis after some time passed, became a nomdad keeping a section of the map as his. although he has a weak army stayed in control for now... then some bandits decided to raid and take control of some areas of it Gilodis manages to catch them and kill the leader he olso the only surviving soldier his lieutenant.

I've enjoyed watching the balance and progress of this event. I think the next big feature add would be vfx/afx to help convey what's happening. Clanks of swords off armor. "ouch" and spurts of damage. Etc.

could maybe change the get bigger upgrade so it only makes their weapon/projectile bigger and a get smaller upgrade which would only make the marble smaller but this could go wrong with a marble having a weapon like 7 times its size

I have a suggestion, marbles can be captured, they would simply just be forced to fight for the color that captured them, there’s a 25% chance a unit can be captured, and higher chance per level
