I absolutely love the reassembly move for this one - in one twist it goes from two bits of lumpy metal into a beautiful solved state. It reminds me a bit of the cast diamond, which is much easier but has a similar "Oh, that's really elegant..." factor.

This was the 3rd hanayama I solved.. definitely not the hardest but still one of my favorites.. very fun to just fidget with!

oh THANK GOD, I bought this puzzle YEARS ago and my mom ended up taking it apart without knowing what she did, I recently refound the pieces and now final TwT its together again!! THANK U SO MUCH

When trying to get it apart, I literally got it in the position with the straight line, but then twisted the shell instead of flipping it. I spent hours on it and couldn’t get it because the fact that you could turn the shell side to side through me off and made me think I had to do it that way. Thanks for the guide, although I am a bit disappointed I couldn’t figure it out on my own just like the spiral puzzle. Do you know of any good Hanayama puzzles for begginers that will help me get better that I could solve on my own?

I'd say all the level 1 to 3 puzzles are a good starting point. If you go to a video where I'm solving a puzzle for the first time, like this one- kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJq3m3lrl8hjbLM And use the leaderboard at the end, I place the puzzles in order of difficulty. Maybe try a few of the lower shelf puzzles.

I'd probably say the Enigma or the Cylinder are up there. It's tough to just pick one
