Well done for this very comprehensive detailed review of this very useful module with infinite possibilities👍🏻

it's THE favorite module in my case.

The first time I saw this video I was driving so I was just listening and those marbles in the beginning annoyed the hell out of me. After actually watching this it is the most useful video!!! Thank you.

Great explanation of the module...so much to explore and play with.
Excellent tutorial! Relaxed pace, good choice of waveforms. Better than the manual😊

Bravo Greg!!! I'm reaching for the rack right NOW!

Greg, I don't think it's an exaggeration to say this module completely changes one's work mode. Understand the basics of just the first half of this video- you're well on your way to understanding the possibilities of modular synthesis- Thanks so much for this!

This is a great video man. I've built out multiple voices in a rack, but have been kind of stumbling and confused about building in some random sequencing components... have spent money on everything from Wogglebug to Shuffling clock multipliers and euclidian circles and blah blah blah. The Turing Machine seemed closest to what i was looking for, and was considering building one, but it seemed a lot of space for only maybe 1/2 the functionality i wanted. I never quite understood what Marbles was, but your intro really helped clarify it for me and i realize now it was what i was looking for.

Thanks for this. I'd hope to see more on this reversed E feature which is still mysterious to me... But you're right... Let's stay curious... Thanks again. Great job.

Seeing kinks hooked up to the scope annoyed me so much 😂So relieved when you saw it. Great video. Though I think maybe you forgot to emphasize that when 'steps' is at 12 o'clock, its not quantized at all. So changing the scales without turning the 'steps' to the right wont really make a difference relative to the selected (and properly tuned) scale.

It wouldn't be a Modular Curiosity episode if I didn't make at least one major mistake. :-)

Can it work with more complex waveforms? the bleeps begin to grind after a while
@GeorgCarlson5 жыл бұрын
use a different oscillator/sound source? The Random Sampler does not generate sound, only pitches and gates
@modularcuriosity5 жыл бұрын
Sure, at about 20:20 into the video I have it driving the resonator module for a completely different sound. Marbles only outputs triggers and v/oct voltages. It can drive whatever sound you want.
@Philtho5 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the beauty of modular. You can swap in and out whatever sound modules you want to use. Hell, you can even have it drive external synths with great effect.
