We're releasing 'Ship in the sand' (a touching cover of Sophia) in cooperation with the Provinciale Stuurgroep KOPP West-Vlaanderen (Provincial Steering Group KOPP West Flanders).
This steering group is made up of people from different organisations in mental healthcare and aims to sensitize as broadly as possible about KOPP (www.koppvlaande...).
The problem that these children are confronted with is often invisible to the outside world. Inside their home it continues to rage rampant. The children often see themselves as the cause of their parents' problems. They try to hide it at all cost and they take on a great responsibility in the family.
Pieter Van Dessel collaborated with production company Geronimo which came up with the idea to link Marble Sounds to attention for KOPP in order to visualize those hidden problems with the necessary impact.
The video was written and directed by Dirk Domen. We witness the difficult story of a mother who includes a child into her psychosis. Next to 10-year-old Kasper Kindekens, the film also stars Dutch first-class actrice Halina Reijn.

We brengen jullie 'Ship In The Sand', een gevoelige cover van de groep Sophia, in samenwerking met de Provinciale Stuurgroep KOPP West-Vlaanderen (www.koppvlaande...).
Deze stuurgroep bestaat uit medewerkers uit diverse organisaties uit de geestelijke gezondheidszorg en wil zo ruim mogelijk sensibiliseren rond KOPP. Het probleem waarmee deze kinderen geconfronteerd worden is vaak onzichtbaar voor de buitenwereld. Binnenshuis woekert het echter verder. De kinderen zien zichzelf vaak als de oorzaak van de problemen van hun ouders. Ze houden dit angstvallig verborgen en nemen een grote verantwoordelijkheid in het gezin op.
Pieter Van Dessel werkte samen met productiehuis Geronimo dat met het idee kwam om Marble Sounds en aandacht voor KOPP te verenigen en zo het verdoken probleem met de nodige impact kenbaar te maken.
De videoclip werd geschreven en geregisseerd door Dirk Domen. We zien het harde verhaal van een moeder die een kind meeneemt in haar psychose. In de hoofdrol zien we naast de 10-jarige Kasper Kindekens ook de Nederlandse topactrice Halina Reijn.

As a teenager who has a mom with a psychosis, this song is so beautiful. They both acted their roles so well. Even tho i found this song 10 years later after it's release, the music, the acting, the message behind this video is so heartwarming. It was truely scary growing up with a mom who has psychosis but, i know she can't do anything about.

The woman suffers from paranoid schizofrenia. She thinks bad people are following her, trying to hurt (or murder) her and her son.The criminals try to find her through the signals of electronic devices. That's why she covers them with aluminium foil. When the son comes home too late she's terrified, but she can not look for him because it's too dangerous for her to go outside. That's what she believes.

It's about a psychotic mother. She takes her young son along in her psychosis.This has disastrous consequences for the young boy's life. Children from parents with psychological problems are often invisible to the world outside. We try to raise awareness for this problem. This story is of course fictitious.
