There is someting more, except technical difficulty, in good compositions ;-) And not all performances of Rachmaninov's music by M.A.Hamelin is good in that point of view, but this one is really good!

Rach is close to the divine when interpreted by martha maestra magistral. One pf the most enthralling things in music literature is the third piano concerto.. There is hardly anyrhing that could cope and compete with that.of course beethoven..bartok and bach are still unparallelef yet the verve and impetus is outstandingly eggregious. I love 6:30. Lang Lang does that part amazingly (actually his recording of this piece is the only recording from him that I love), but Hamelin makes a beautiful effect as well.

Literature..rach is like my kleist or kafka a major artist and divine mouth piece of god in all its jobian sufferings toil and ker on the greek sense of the word fate destiny providential determination and predilection wothin the pattern or matrix of predetermination.

In general I like Hamelin's playing, but this performance just seems too mechanical to me.
