apparently he DID play this when people's phones rang during his concerts. Or so I've heard.

That dial tone sound at the end was a nice touch.

Very well done, but the last four measures left me scratching my head until I read the instructions in the score. I had no idea those were supposed to be touch tones!

It is supposed to be some numbers dialed

It's poorly composed garbage that's why

WHERE DID YOU GET THE SHEET MUSIC? And what was the sound in 0:40 to 0:45? what a very nice piece!
@MJE1123581321347 жыл бұрын
The sheet music is available somewhere, although I forget where. If it's not available now, it probably wouldn't take all that long to write it out on music paper from this video.

You've redeemed that tune which after the flogging we taken from it is no small feat! Bravo!

Is there any significance to the numbers dialled at the end? 1, 3, 5, 6, 1, 3, 4??? Do they mean anything?
@jerry_moo7 жыл бұрын
Peter Johnston, ah. Did you hear the last few measures? I believe if you press those said numbers on a Nokia cellphone, it will sound exactly like those notes. It is possibly imitative of that, though this is just an assumption.
@EpicPianoArrangements7 жыл бұрын
They sound like that on every single phone, no matter what brand. It's how blind people know the number they are dialling. I'm just curious if the number had any meaning...
@robertofontiglia41483 жыл бұрын
@@EpicPianoArrangements Hey I don't know -- there's seven, and phone numbers have seven digits in North-America (Marc-André Hamelin is from Québec) so maybe it's a relevant phone number ?

Hahaha, brilliant!!! THAT ringtone, whenever I hear it, irritates me to the point of wanting to rip the offending device out of the owner's hands and smash it on the ground... but yes, this, during a concert, would be a politer sort of vengeance. ;o)

Is the Pope a Catholic? Yes, certainly he is - one of the greatest in the world, in my opinion. I love how he explores so much very obscure repertoire, and plays the most difficult pieces with astonishing precision. Clearly he has a sense of humour, too, as shown here.
@morganmartinez84204 жыл бұрын
Yes, and the best living pianist too.
@simonalbrecht94352 жыл бұрын
Hamelin is one of the greatest pianists of our time, but he also has a unique way of connecting deep pianistic art with humour, and I think that makes people take him less seriously as a person.
