Correction, Marc was never married to Gloria Jones. He was still married to his wife June at the time of his death.

As the last of the legendary "trilogy" albums, Tanx is by far the most interesting, musically. Although it didn't garner the hits like Electric Warrior and The Slider, it showed Marc was aware of the need to progress & develope. Tanx was therefore, what Tony Visconti refered to as, "one more for the kids"! What he did afterwards only shows his further evolution. Marc gave The Damned a leg-up and said good things about The Ramones. He was in the present and not stuck in his early seventies high-point. We can only conjecture where he might have gone. I think he'd have remained totally relevent.

The Warrior His spirit came his spirit has gone But with Marc Bolan, you can still Get It On T.rex they came and hit the scene You should have heard, those girls scream With his corkscrew hair and people so fair He’d strut on the stage without worry or care He knew just how to get into your mind He’d bump and grind he was one of a kind He’d caress you with his Persian glove As he sang those words of hot Hot Love He’d Ride A White Swan over Crimson Moon Tickle your fancy with Venus Loon Gave all he got, he gave it to you Rock On, Hang Ups, and Cadilac too All knew who was, was the Main man With Rip Off, Slider, and Tanx in a can Bill Legend, Steve Currie, Mickey Finn Bumping and grinding from deep within Satin jacket trousers, glitter under the eyes I Love To Boogie with screams and cries His B sides were good, as good as the A’s Jeepster was part of the Glam Rock phase Went to New York City he was The Groover With Telegram Sam Marc was a mover To some, it came as no great surprise How this 20th Century Boy he did rise Electric Warrior L.P. was pure bliss Marc Bolan the Warrior we do miss. I would have to give the glam nod to Bolan. (Ziggy was more a theater piece than a glam look.) But Bowie was certainly 100 times the songwriter.

I never got to see Marc Bolan bcs I was too young in the 70’s …born in 1963 …but Husband and I were huge T-Rex fans ….and enjoyed many a great night with T-Rextasy at The Wedgwood Rooms in Pompey. But now they’ve moved to the Kings Theatre which is all seating and the price more than doubled. Why the Wedgwood was a perfect Venue. Shame we don’t go anymore now …I’m not ready to Dance in my Seat quite yet lol 🤷‍♀️☝️😅 Still live T-Rextasy though. Maybe we just do t feel up to it after do many loved ones ill after risking inj£ction$. 🤷‍♀️❤️‍🩹 💜🦢💜 keep a little of Marc in your Heart ❤️

My partner said he remembers when he was a kid, on a hot summers day, his shoes went missing when he went swimming, so on the way back he had to wear big white wellies. He was at an ice cream van on the Upper Richmond Road and Marc Bolan was there and laughed at his skinny legs in shorts and big white wellies and ruffled his ginger hair. Lol! 😅

Thanks for sharing…😊Reminds me of the story June told about the young boy who lived in the upstairs flat to them, bouncing off the walls in Bolan’s flat because he was so excited about his new baseball boots, which he pronounced ”space ball boots”…It motivated Bolan to write the song Spaceball Ricochet.

Saw him in "71. Alexandria Roller Rink , Va. USA $11 ticket price. For back then, ticket prices were $6.50 max. A small fortune to see a band who had not come to the states before. Jeepster and Get It On were played fairly regular on the radio stations. He had a good size audience. I thought they were GREAT!

@@joebowieaddick Oh Yeah! At first the audience did not no what to think of him. They were all cross legged on the floor. I was the only person on my feet throughout and he noticed this and played it up for me. The audience was rude to him. Real hippy dippy jerks. by the end of the show with Get It On, he suddenly won them over! It was a stellar moment and I was amazed at his professional confidence level for such a little guy. He was like a force of nature. Most memorable concert of my life.

Only for those in the UK. Your statement is funny to me because as an American I used to think it was one of the silliest lines in rock... Until I learned that "jeepster" was slang for "vampire". (Which Bolan actually sings at one point towards the end of the track - but as a kid I never put the two together.)

It always amuses me when people leave comments claiming to know so much about Marc Bolan who didn’t know him personally or even met him. Only those who knew him personally knew what he was really like, as for the rest of the “experts” well the only comment is….an expert is…X is the sign of nothing and a spurt is a drip out of control. RIP AND LEAVE A LITTLE MARC IN YOUR HEART❤️

Labeling T. Rex as teeny bop or simply pop music is such an injustice and inaccurate way to portray them. Just because they were appealing to the upcoming generation doesn't mean they were "little kid silly music," they were an outright rock and roll band and that's how they should be categorized. Even beyond this, Marc employed mythology surrealism and wrote his own music full of hard rockabilly, blues and cosmic acoustic ballads. The sheer fact that he was an influence on the punk movement as well with several acts from the ground 0 year of 1977 listing him as a major influence should completely negate the "teeny bopper" moniker.

"Gloria and Marc were involved in a traffic accident" is a polite way of saying Gloria J Bolan drove their car into a metal fence ... that killed him. A tree kept him it falling over an embankment. He died on the scene.

Marc never married Gloria Johns he never divorced June. As for all sounding the same thats BS, if you could play Futuristic Dragon with only the music you would not guess it was T.Rex Tanx never sounded like The Slider, Electic Warrior was nothing like Unicorn. Many bands get "a sound' Beatles, Queen, Status Quo, ELO, you know who they are right away. Marc Started Glam Rock, TV has hardly a good word to say about Marc, he mentions drugs & drink yet i saw an interview with him and he admitted he was the same. For me best tribute band was Too Rex.

Marc bolan was absolutely brilliant fantastic singer of our generation sad he died so young but unfortunately it was meant to be he had already perticted his own death by saying that he would die in a mini he told one of the members of John's Children how he would die he said it wouldn't be a Rolls royce but a mini he was interviewed by Russell Harty and mentioned that he wouldn't grow old the reason why he never devorced June child was because deep down he was still in love with her but Gloria jones wasn't to blame for Marcs death either although many fans blamed her there is a painting of the same tree with the same moon in a Gallery in France which was identical to the same tree and moon on the night marc bolan was killed his number plate was fox and the song soild gold easy action had the words foxes from a tree also he worte im on the road Gloria when he was 8 he perticted he would become famous Marc bolan was psychic like myself i am too apparently later it came out that the mini never hit the tree it was the fence instead they hit another give away was when marc fell off the stage when he was with David bowie that was also a bad oman too so many ormans that perticted Marcs death
