I've only just discovered these videos and can't stop watching them. You gotta have nerves of steel to ride at this speed in just a T-shirt and jeans. I know these guys are pros but damn, that is insane! And the locations you guy/gals pick are incredible. Sick run Marc..thanks for bringing us along. Be safe y'all. o7

Someone, anyone tell me how to avoid speed wobbles. I literally have 2 scars already.
@edgriffith14288 жыл бұрын
My guess it a longer board and tighter trucks, maybe even wider trucks. Both will greatly improve the center of mass between you in the both while also reducing your ability to turn. Which in theory will raise that thresh hold that you get wobbles. Learning to stand properly on the board will also help. From my experience, standing on the front with you front truck helps to check better contact with the road surface. Of course standing with it further back would do the opposite.
@andreas.lenac.greenlight8 жыл бұрын
Ed Griffith thank you very much for your answer. i have a 39.3' x 9.5' board, wheel base 29.3'. it's paired with back bear grizzly trucks 180mm, 82A bushings and with 71mm 83A wheels. its a long island longboards longboard. i know this is beginner, but still. what about tightening trucks? edit: the deck is drop through.
@goteamwhatever60598 жыл бұрын
Andreas Lenac get harder bushings, unless you way like 90 pounds, 82a are for low speeds or freeriding harder bushings like 90a 92a is the go to for most, some go even harder if your over 160-180 pounds... also yes tighten your trucks if they feel to turntable or divey, then tighten the back truck about a quarter or half turn more than the front to keep the back more stable than the front this also helps with speed wobbles, and lastly when riding 90% of the time you'll want to distribute more weight on the front of the board than back like a 60-65%font foot/40-35%back this can vary due to the elements but a good rule of thumb, the wobbles always seem to start in the back
@xM4XvPA1Nx8 жыл бұрын
Learn how to tuck like you see him doing in the video. Putting as much body weight on the front truck as you can will eliminate a lot of wobbles. Also dont tighten your trucks just find harder bushings. Your bushings will wear out quicker since they are compressed a lot if they are too soft.

Holy shit! On an occasional fall, how you protect yourself if you have no knee pads only sliding gloves?
@zachecho91677 жыл бұрын
You try to push with your toes and stand on them, rarely works, you just get your legs screwed up.
@iammoserdealwithit70977 жыл бұрын
well, you try to slide over the ground as best as you can, probably you´ll fuck up your knees thats why i only go fast with kne pads... YOu know that sierra nevada bail from james kelly? Well fuck yes you do he probably wouldn´t have a scratch on his knees if he wore them. ("Burn it down" if you dont know it)
@JohnDoe-lh4ji7 жыл бұрын
Just so you know there is a very high chance he is gearing g-forms or another form of protections underneath his pants. I ride them and they are not noticeable at all. The only issue is that they protect against hard slams but not the best to slide on.

on a even road you d nearly need 10 kw to get to those speeds, most braking is done by friction and ca 80 % is wind what brakes on a raw run
