That putting performance throughout the tournament was unbelievable. He earned the win for sure

His speed control was amazing. Whether the putts dropped or shaved the edge, they were all stopping 6-18 inches past the hole.

He got lucky on a lot of those. Tour average from 20 feet is around 5 percent make, so you'd figure he got lucky on plenty of those. Golf is like that sometimes. don't expect him to hole putts like that for much longer.

I don't think performing above average should be directly attributed to luck. It was simply an excellent performance. He was reading the greens superbly and rolling his putts just as well. He won't always putt like that because it is extremely difficult to do so, not because he'll run out of luck.

It's not always how well you putt anyhow, it's where you putt from. His short game was good that week and left himself in good position to make his short putts. They show 20 footers made on TV and internet for the purpose of trying to prove the pros are better than us by a mile margin, when in reality they play off of plus 4 handicap simply with their short game and putting, along with keeping the ball in play most of the time. It's not fancy these guys, they simply keep the ball in play and get up and down consistently. I average 12 greens from the back tees at any given course, yet I shoot in the 80's because I can't chip or putt worth a damn. Not to make an argument, or to be disagreeable but I've seen these guys in person and it's not that fancy. They miss most of their 20 footers and make all of their short putts, and they get up and down because they leave themselves with easy shots. They keep the ball in play so well, they rarely take a penalty stroke, maybe once every 20 rounds. Yes, he got lucky and holed some long ones. but most of his short ones are the ones he made and he course managed better than the rest of the field. Didn't mean to be argumentative, just stating my own experience. I can respect where you're coming from, and yes, he did hit some good putts. But even touring pros miss about 95 percent of their 25 footers and usually when they play well some of these just drop. It's not how well you putt, it's where you putt from, and luck is heavily involved if multiple 20 footers are made during a round. Just my opinion anyway.

I don't want to be a jerk either, but if you are legitimately averaging 12 GIR per round (which would rank T64 on the PGA Tour) and consistently shooting in the 80's, then either (A) your short game is catastrophically bad, or (B) you consistently hit balls OB and into hazards on the other 6 holes (which I highly doubt if you are a good enough ball striker to average 12 greens per round). I've never met a player who legitimately averages 12 GIR and is much worse than a scratch handicap, they only seem to exist on the internet. Averaging 12 greens, your scoring average should lie between 69-73 (par 72 course) with the variation stemming from short game skill and avoiding major errors. www.golfwrx.com/285949/the-truth-behind-greens-in-regulation-and-scoring/ Again, I don't want to be dismissive as you may have recorded your stats over several rounds and be telling the truth... But if you are, then you are a massive statistical outlier. My buddies and I have been keeping our GIR stats for some time now and we've concluded that most people considerably overestimate their GIR stats. Many players think short game is the only thing holding them back, when in reality their ballstriking is also miles behind pro standard.

Wow. Unbelievable round. He could have gone even lower if he had made some of those edge burning putts!

In general Marc is a very conservative player. He didn't take too many unnecessary risks and won by a large margin. Kept the ball in play all week long.

He did play some aggressive shots that were a bit off, like the one at 1:53 but overall a very conservative player, like a Nicklaus or Woods.

had no idea you could pitch off a green like that (7:05)

I keep saying it, you wanna be a pro, just go and hit from bunkers and rough and pitch and chip and putt, then hit a few irons and woods.

It's not "girly" duude, so how about you just relax a little mate, i mean, it can happen to everyone even the Pros, and even you mate and for the rec i didn't see you playing out there with the Pros, now didn't i.
