Simon feels worthless, hence the entire start and plot of the episode. I don't feel its heavy handed at all for someone to point out to him the genuine proof of his value in the world that he's not acknowledging.

11:04 I think it has more to do with the fact that Cake doesn't want to be underestimated? Idk, it feels weird to me for her to have a character moment come up in this episode when a better one comes up in the next one.

You know, I'm beginning to realize that you seem to see Fionna and Cake as fanservice, and it causes you to miss certain ongoing plot points (Or, ALL of them). I also think that the fight between Marcy and PB is the only sidestory we *don't* need a continuation of, because we KNOW how that ends. The two die together, and the vampire king's insanity becomes worse, and the vampires go extinct due to overhunting their food. Maybe some other cool stuff will happen after that, but this is adventure time. We don't need to see how *everything* ends.

My theory is VK is gonna be the main villain for season 2, cause he was interested when the gang warped to another world, and they slipped in that little detail of the vamps running low on food

I feel like exploring the multiverse is fine cuz we already explored and finished most of the main story lines, we saw finn and jake live and die, pb and marcy's relationship, and now simon's story, only thing left to explore in the main universe would be the future Ooo.

finn's dad in the timeline of the original show wasnt all that bad of a guy until he got severe brain damage when he and baby finn got lost out at sea. the memory problems it gave him is what caused his character development to go downhill. in the vamp world that doesnt seem to have happened so he's more like who he was before the accident happened

Yes and no. His memory loss only made him start becoming a crook because he was a crook before he met Minerva. Assuming that Finn never even exists in this world, it's still interesting that he's so nice and genuine in this world.

@@smileyhappyface5864 i suppose thats true, im assuming that he probably went through some hard lessons in that world then. surviving together with a rag tag team of the last people on earth as you fight your way through the vampire apocalypse probably does something to a person

I mean, Adventure Time introduced a Multiverse at the end of seaosn 4. But youre attributing this to Fionna and Cake which feels kind of like a cheap criticism. We literally saw Puhoy and Farmworld in Adventure Time and none of those cheapened any of Finn's life or experiences at all.

I have a lot to say about the Fionna and Cake Pacing!!! Since I binged the show, this episode following the last with Gary and Marshal Lee feels way too fast for me, I know logically that date we saw last episode took place a while back because it was the first day Fionna was gone and now we're caught up, but everything they did in this episode feels like something that should've had a little more time to build after the initial deal went bad with the Lemon Twins, I get that they wanted the Gary and Marshal winter date to parallel the story with Fionna Cake and Simon meeting Candy Queen and The Winter King, but in that case, why not do that story earlier? I feel like it'd work better as a whole with the pacing of Fionna's arc as well to have some time to ruminate on those feelings before the events of this episode really unfold, I know they're in a short episode limit but I love this franchise so much it has such a good team and I love to criticize the things I love, this is pretty in line with the small things you've critiqued throughout the series so far though

also since less people will see this in the replies I'm gonna address my comments about Cake in your episode six reaction, didn't notice the difference with her not being afraid of vampires, which is cool, but also yeah that whole plotline with Cake trying to break free from Fionna fell so flat for me that even after watching it all so freshly it didn't stick to me and all I remembered Cake as was as a Jake clone, I think my comments still stand but I also see now with more insight the critique you were making before about the things they were TRYING to do with Fionna and Cake not really being as well done or interesting as any of the side characters, Simon, Gary and Marshal, Any of the Alt-Universes. I am absurdly biased to Fionna and Cake as a concept and I think this fun little short series will hold a special place in my heart, but I think I'd be lying to myself if I didn't admit Distant Lands was better, yknow?

martin is the best dad of adventure time. he saved his son from the titan and got brain damage from it, and that’s the only reason he doesn’t remember finn and reverted back to his old ways. if he hadn’t, he would have spent his entire life looking for finn. and for an adventure time superfan, you seem to be missing so many obvious clues and connections that lead you to false conclusions about the show

@@Isabella-tu9fb He shows up to her rap concert to cheer her on....even though he didn't know she'd be there. But he does start to reform sort of after meeting the Chipmunks. He's still a bad dad though.
