I find Marceline’s story so groundbreaking because throughout her whole childhood after waiting for her mom all that time, she grew lonely wanting a guardian to talk to for the comfort her mom had, like Simon. And from the lack of her dad in her childhood until she was older, it shows how bad things ended up when relying on others

I like that they had Marceline admit that Elise did screw up by not talking to her about bad stuff, she gets why she did it and still loves her but it caused issues for her later in life. There are plenty of examples of bad parents but I like that newer toons are depicting issues caused by well meaning parents, what Elise accidentally did and what Greg did in SU by not giving Steven enough stability etc. It's showing kids that parents are people, not just parents.

The reason her mother looked terrified when Marcy sucked the soul out of the wolf thing is because her mother was afraid of the baby wolfs reaction because that’s what she didn’t want to see Marcy die infront of her like the wolf so that’s why Marcys mum ran away

Marcy was half-demon, so, demonic blood. She sucked vampires' souls to gain their abilities and was bitten by the Vampire King in his attempt to ensure the existence of his kind. Only then she became the Vampire Queen, as well as the only vampire left.

Marcy has the darkest background with such a meh outlook for so long, and Obsidian makes her that much more of a survivor

You could totally tell that both Marceline and her mom loved each other very much, and even though it was good to finally find out what happened to Marcy's mom it was still sad, especially with what she died from which was no doubt from the nuclear fallout I.E. radiation...at least that's mom guess given the symptoms she showed.

I thought it was very interesting and sad to find out that her mother wanted marsaline to not see her die which is saying a lot about how much she cares for her and that she was a first trying to fix a motorcycle to get to the shelter. Plus I have finished binge watching clone high and I think madame c.j walker should have been there too since Harriet tubman was in the series.

Thanks for this video. Awesome analysis. Bear in mind - The scrapbook was an incredible attempt to fill in the plots with canon, but ultimately it is NOT canon. Bizarrely, neither is Explore the Dungeon because I Don't Know, which is another vital source of canon information that cannot possibly fit into the show's timeline despite initial claims it was canon. So some of the plot points in the scrapbook contradict the show. It's not much, but those tiny contradictions change things a lot. The biggest one is Marceline's hibernation, which takes place over the only possible time window that she could have given Bubblegum the shirt.
