He’s singing between counter Tenor and Tenor. I’ve seen a review from a professional opera singer who said to change from countertenor to tenor is extremely difficult even for a professional singer. When Marcelito was interviewed here in the Philippines after qualifying for the semi-finals, he said that he was required to submit 5-10 songs and from those AGT choses the song he was to sing in the semi-finals.

Sometimes Hollywood loves a scripted competition that they've already decided who's the one that they allow to win specially when it comes to racism. Hopefully AGT won't allow that to happen. I would say if there's that poor choice of song, that means the AGT organizer is bias and want someone else to win it even it's a common talent.

Actually Marcelito Pomoy informed his fans here in the Philippines when he sung at the agt THE PRAYER, he cannot choose the song he would like to sing in the Semi-Finals but he was asked by the agt organizer to give at least 10 songs, familiarised by him and he can sing it well and good. Then out of the list (10 songs) they will select one for him to sing it. But he also admitted that HE MUST NOT MENTION THOSE 10 songs outside agt meaning to his fans. It’s a secret and the organizer dont like him to share... that is what he told us. Well just praying that he will win in the grand finals bcoz we believe he is a gifted one! Not all can sing or imitate lady song by a him as a man esp songs of celine dion We love and support. He had a recent post and interview that he gave a list to choose from but that the agt team has to get licenses or permits for the song to be performed publicly, need some approvals, need to check if the production can accommodate certain additions like props probably, check song arrangements if it will fit the time allotment and time for practice, etc. guess they will choose which fits best given all these. The producers are very particular especially about the licenses.

I think he's improving his voice (vocal coaches here on KZbin are noticing) because AGT is most likely providing him with a personal vocal coach to help him with his performances. I believe people have said he had no vocal training so having a personal vocal coach while he's on AGT is truly benefiting his vocals.

Marcelito Pomoy said on his official site 24 hrs ago that they did picked the song for him. Simon Cowell did not want a theatrical song for him to sing. He said, the song they picked is not the type of song he would pick for a competition with limited high notes. He admitted he is afraid but nothing he could do. Wish him the best luck.

Simon doesnt want him to go to same route as theatrical songs and he wants somethinf different. Marcelito said that Simons song choice for him is a not a song for competition, so it means its a simple song.
