Thank you so much for making these videos in English. Even tho we have many resources in English, your explanation is by far the best.

조나Jonah thanks a lot! Even though I do most of my videos in German, I’ll try to do some in English from time to time!

Your video is the only one I could find on this drill. Crazy. This should be a mandatory drill at the early stages for all hockey associations. Thanks Marcel.

Thanks! You know, I don’t think it really happens enough for people to worry about it enough, in order to practice it. But then it happens, and then your shatter your collarbone, and then you’re like „hmmm, ok, what could I have done differently?“

Thanks for this great video! This is hugely important stuff. When my daughter was learning to play in the US, they did stuff like this every day. I‘ve never seen anyone on any of her teams working on it here in Germany - even though 2 different kids on her U15 team have been lost for the season because they went into the boards wrong after falling.

Hey marcel, love your vids. I was wondering whether you happen to know training camps for adults, who started hockey late? I play in an amateur league in northern Germany. We are all late bloomers (most of us started in the late twenties and are now on the mid thirties). We‘d all benefit from an intensive week of training. But we can’t find anything. Also: you should offer such a course/training week. 👍👍👍🏒🏒🏒

Steegwolf I’m doing a mini-camp over the holidays, but it’s already full, and a two-day weekend camp next September for adults (I did one this year as well). You’ll have to check my webpage www.marcelshockeyschool.com or my IG or FB accounts, because I advertise them on there as soon as registration is open! (probably in January)

Only question I have is what or you fail to stop? Isn't going foot first into the boards bad, and likely result in ankle injury?

Much better than going head first, believe me.

This video a few years earlier and I didn't break my hock double by crashing into the boards from goalline at full speed. 8 weeks for recovery in Germany but I'm no pro only German "beer" league called RHL

Schnell lernen: jeden Tag trainieren, so viel wie du kannst. Und zu spielen bei deinem Verein in der Nähe fragen oder im Stadion fragen wann Hobbymannschaften Training haben.

If you can speak such a fine English why did you make life difficult for us by recording some of your most important videos in german?

Vivien Hounsounou He did make a lot of his videos in both languages, but you also need to appreciate that Marcel is probably the only one regularly producing content in German.

Vivien Hounsounou because I live and coach in Germany. I started doing these videos when I saw there were pretty much zero resources online in German for the players I coach, many of whom are kids whose English simply isn’t good enough yet to get enough out of the videos if I would do them in English. When I have enough time, I shoot a video in English and well as one in German (check out my English playlist). Otherwise I write English subtitles for my German vids, with is a lot of work but I’m ok with that!
