March 16, 2024: Early Mushroom Hunt

Mushrooms are being found . . . so they say . . . but not by me!
It's still kind of early, but the weather's been really nice, and I just had to get out and try.
I'm hoping I don't get skunked like last year.

My parents used to hunt for morrels on their property in IL. It was hit or miss. Sometimes they would come home with grocery bags full of them, sometimes they would get skunked. So I know they are very real and very tasty. Fry em up in a skillet with some butter. Only guarantee is you won't find em if you don't go out and look for em, so you're halfway there!
