Hi Yvette! I clean the bobbin area of my sewing machine with a small brush every time I change bobbins. At the same time I add one or two drops of oil. This keeps everything running and sounding great.

Just found this video. I love my tape. I use it to mark my speciality rulers to mark my cut lines or when squaring up blocks.

Agree with you regarding glow line tape! I can’t get it to stick EVER! Glad I discontinued the Quilty Box. I also hate that you have to keep their booklet in order to have the pattern. I personally love the Sew Sampler Box from Fat Quarter Shop.

I use the glo line tape on my rulers to mark where I want to do my cuts. So I don’t have to figure out where to cut each time.

I don't get quilty box, only sew sampler box but would have been disappointed with this box. Watching your reviews helped me decide and I think Sew Sampler is the best bang for the buck.

I was so upset that we were given fat eighths! I agree that the color palette is not my favorite but I do love the project so I cut everything today and hope to get some time to sew tomorrow. The pieces are very small so it will be a challenge. I actually did enjoy using the tape. I had never seen it before and found it helpful to mark the quarter inch lines on my ruler to cut much quicker. I enjoy your videos and wish I was able to receive all the different subscriptions in the mail like you!

I think it is very hard for companies to keep us all happy with subscription items. You are very clear about it being a personal choice. If you ask your repair people I think you will find that a drop of oil in the bobbin casing keeps things quieter and helps your machine. Your manual should tell you where, I check every 2 bobbins full and dust the area at the same time. Love your honesty and your cheery posts!

I was watching other tutorials and you said something about QB and I had to go and see what was going on. Last I knew they were not bad, but times are a changing! The box that I saw was the last straw for most people. Cuts of fabric wrong, bad looking patterns on fabric, THE PURPLE THING again. And the brown/tan linen fabric. LOL!!!xoxo

I cancelled a few months ago. If I had gotten this one and paid 48 dollars for fat eighths and linen I would have been unhappy about the value as well. I feel like the Sew Sampler has better value for price point.

I love the box, I have always leaned towards earth tone colours. I have been watching your videos for a while now...Love them BTW. I think I might sign up for the Quilty Box. I agree, this box was the pits. I cancelled my subscription last month. Since they are able to acquire all of the products in the box at less than wholesale, I expect a bargain. Am I wrong to feel that way? Maybe I'm way off base. What do you all think?

Becca Cramer thats why i don’t get any boxes or subscriptions. First of all were military retired so I cannot afford it and if i were to make an effort and treat myself to one I would expect a bargain and useful things and a nice piece of fabric, whatever the size should be depending on package size. So I prefer to buy things as i need them when i can. I love watching Ivette so i can have an idea so far I cannot afford anything she has shared with us. Retirement sucks! 😓

I had been thinking about a Quilty Box subscription until I saw this box. I understand your disappointment, although I do use the Glow tape on my rulers and I think I am the only quilter left on the face of the earth that still doesn't have a Purple Thing. Love your videos, even Jellybean's eyeball!

I'm with you Yvette, I have canceled this box too. They were sending rulers that I had and been around for a while. I do love their little magazine and usually like their fabric, but this month the deer were cute but not worth $48.00. Thanks for sharing. xo

I love Elizabeth Hartman, so I loved this box and would be delighted to win it in a giveaway. The fat eighth instead of fat quarters would have bothered me. I guess it was packaged for the mini quilt. I appreciate your honesty!

I loved the box this month, I use the glowline tape to mark underneath my rulers all the time works great! The oil works great on all kinds of other stuff, anything that needs to be lubed. I use on the screw on my scissors to keep them smooth opening. I do agree that they are fat eighths not fat qtrs! Maybe if we email quilty box they will fix them. Love JellyBean!

Hi Penni! Thanks for the comment. I always have problems with the Glowline tape staying where I put it. EVERY. TIME. I'm glad it works for you. :) I try not to be TOO negative on my videos, but the value just wasn't there this month (in my opinion, of course). I've cancelled my subscription. xoxo

I was good with this box because I'm tickled to get some of the Terrarium fabric. I also have a few vintage machines that do need to be oiled on a regular basis plus a Brother PQ1500 that I oil every time I sew on it. Not everyone will be happy with every box and that's okay too! Trying to make everyone happy all the time would be impossible. I didn't do Sew Sampler because it just wasn't my style or taste. You keep it real and aren't nasty, just an honest opinion!

Hi Karen! I occasionally show things I'm working on. I have ventured into a couple of very loose tutorials. But I must admit that the box openings and my regular full-time job keep me pretty busy. When I finally get to sew, I don't usually take the time to video. I find it pretty difficult to do on my own. For now, I leave that *mostly* to the pros. xoxo

Wow! I don’t know why you still subscribe to this box. The only thing I like is the glow line tape. I have been searching high and low for my roll or glow line, but I think it must be in a box somewhere. I am wanting to use it to better mark my 1/4” line on my sewing machine. I agree with you - purple things have been around since the earth was cooling and I prefer to use a chopstick. Move along, nothing to see here.

Hi Teri! I'm really impressed that you guys are saying the glowline worked for you. I've tried using it to mark the 1/4" line on my sewing machine, too, but it never sticks. BTW, I've cancelled this subscription. You have to *really* awe me for me to keep spending almost $50/month. Nope. Not happening.

I have seen every single Quilty Box unboxing video since the very beginning. There has not been one single box that I would have liked enough for it to be worth the price of the subscription. I have never subscribed to Quilty Box and this month reminds me yet again why. IMHO I have 2 Juki sewing machines that require oiling and I only use Juki sewing machine oil. I would not feel comfortable using an oil on my sewing machine that my husband just used to lube his fishing reel!!

I totally agree with many of you.....terrible box. This was my 3rd of 3 so I'm done with Quilty. This month's (April) box has a very nice item in it but I won't subscribe again for quite awhile. I was messaging with Quilty about returning but they don't accept returns unless it's damaged. I asked why it stated fat quarters when they were fat eighths and she said it was a typo??? AND they do nothing about their mistake???? I am so disappointed.

I liked some of the fabrics they gave in this box but overall it is a weird box of stuff they sent. Also really odd the info on the card didn't match the sizes you got. I would be be pissed if that was me.

Those are fat quarters just cut by width of fabric. I bet they measure 8" X 42".

Karen Tibbs those are fat 8ths. Fat quarters are 18×22. I buy lots of fat 8ths for crazy quilting.

Karen, the cuts are definitely 9" x 21". I measured them. Not sure if they made a mistake and were supposed to say FAT EIGHTHS or if they made a mistake and should have sent FAT QUARTERS. What I do know for a fact is that we *received* fat eighths!! xoxo

Most modern computerized machines don't use oil. Linen looked cool. Not a big fan of the fabrics. I squealed when jellybeans little face sniffed the camera 💕

I think that was a crap box not worth what ever you paid for it. I think these monthly box things are a rip off sorry but that is my opinion. I would rather put all that money together but a plane ticket and travel to Missouri and go fabric shopping there... just a thought😘

I received my first Quilty Box Mini this Month as I liked the charm pack, I also found it way Over Priced. should have kept the money and went to the fabric store and bought a couple yards of fabric I wouldn't otherwise buy. I am Canceling my subscription. I also canceled one from Quilt Crates which I thought were over priced, Nice Fabric but the pattern and botm looked like I printed them out on my home printer. But I will Keep my subscription to Sew Sampler, they try to make it like you are getting more for you money.

Yvette, I think a lot of these boxes are a big rip off. I have seen other you tubers, and none are as honest as you. At lst I had interest in these boxes, but the more videos I see, the more it seems to me like they're just not worth it. I agree with you,,,most of the items in these boxes are just crap.

I loved this box. Last month i hated the fabric. The pattern last month was eh and the video on the ruler was let me say not what i would like to see in a how to use video. So you need not appologize for not caring for this box. The deer fabric i will use for fussy cutting for something probably a little wall hanging. I have some ideas! TheYvetteRene I myself don’t subscribe to any quilting boxes probably because of this reason. I didn’t see anything in that box that I absolutely had to have, didn’t like any of the fabric, never heard of the glow tape so I’m sure I don’t need it and if my machine needs oiled I’ll have it done when I take it in to be serviced. With all that being said I do enjoy watching your videos and seeing jellybean. I think it’s great that you do these Box reviews so we can see if there worth spending our money to purchase.
