I got the book outlet sale!! and I also got all the fairies as well!! and I think I did order from Thrift books Seattle....I had scribbles of alcohol markers thru out 2 books!! It was so awful. Thank you Doodle!! Love your channel....I also watch Maia. I found you thru her. Take care of yourself!!

They are so beautiful. I also got about 4 of mine from book outlet a while ago. You got some really beautiful books. Major score enjoy. I'm the same way about book outlet, the dark crystal book is awesome. I can never find enuff to do a full order but I really love dark crystal and and jump on the mythographic train when they are in sale.....I have a ton of them and have yet to color in them bc they make me drool...lol im.saving those high art coloring books for when I finish what I been working in and brush up on my skills. 😊

Oh boy Doodle I have the dual pental metallic hybrids I love those!!!! Oh so are they going to stop having them? Bummer!!! These are great!!!. Don’t put the books in the garbage donate them as some kids will like them anyway! Sorry you got them like this! I just color in the hidden objects and ignore them! Hi Maureen! I do not know what is going on with the Pentel DMs? The last chance notification at Jet pens was only on the limited edition ones (that are not sold in the regular pack). I hit up that sale on Book Outlet too! I found Mouse Guard on there (of all places!) at the end of Jan. and I grabbed Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure . LoL I also got the Elves and Night Terrors. I've bought all my older Mythographics from that site as well. I love the art in the stupid hidden objects books and feel they ruin them by placing a compass -or something just as ridiculous- in the middle of the main subject. So glad they stopped doing this. ANYWAY.. great haul! Can't wait to see what other goodies you picked up!

You can refill your “disposable” Pigma Microns/Artline pens when they’re empty/dry if your nibs are still good… you just need to pull the nib with tweezers and drip some Indian/Bombay in with a syringe…. It’s cheap and waterproof!

Aww! Such cute little baby Prisma colors!😅I luv seeing the stumps!...I do like micron pens but yes i'd like to find something less expensive for doodling. Black and white are so beautiful together. I think it's the contrast that appeals to me....Wonderful supply of Gelly Roll pens! ...You found some lovely books minus the damaged ones. Glad you got your money back!.....So far this month I have completed 2 pages and 3 wips😂🤣.I don't know why i think that's so funny! 😳😂It's just that i watch all these very talented colorists and see their 10-13-20 pages done in one month. haha! I left you a comment yesterday and apparently forgot to hit "Comment" (like an idiot). Anyway, great haul (except for the duds)! So sorry you got those colored-in books. How annoying. This is why I won't buy used books anymore--but I know it can be a great deal if the sellers actually send you what they say they're going to. Just ordered Tangle Magic a couple days ago, and Night Terrors (along with some others) arrived from Book Depot last week (yippee). 😁 I refuse to visit the Jet Pens website. Best not to tempt myself. I love Mythographic books! Alcohol markers perform so well. And that Mythogoria is one of my fav books. I did the pig killer guy and it still scares me to look at it lol! I recently received Mermaids in Paradise, used, “Like New” and it had 5 colored pages and 10 pages RIPPED OUT. I couldn’t freaking believe it. It got returned. Are the images in the Dark Crystal book AI? They look kinda like it. Or is it that they are clip art from the movie? I’m trying to learn to discern the difference because I don’t support AI either. Great haul! Look forward to part 2!

Thank you. That is good to know about the alcohol markers. I will certainly give them a try. On Amazon paper they spread so much, but on other papers I have had better results. Amazon should really have better quality control over 3rd party sellers. 🙄. They should be reprimanded somehow when they lie like that. No, the Dark Crystal book is not AI. It is much too old to be that. Now, I suppose they could have taken a still from the movie and traced it, but I am leaning towards not. I think this because there are at least 3 different illustrator's renderings in the book. One is far to conceptual in nature to be anything other than an artists interpretation. One has a heavy black line and hatching style reminiscent of comic style thus also very stylized - so not traced. And the last style has thin crisp lines in a minimal ish style that is optimal for coloring. Someone who was tracing would have included more detail and excessive lines I think. I could be wrong about the last style. If they traced, then they are really good at it. However, since this is from a big publisher, it wouldn't matter either morally or ethically as they had to legally buy the rights or pay a percentage to publish any Dark Crystal images no matter how they were rendered. I have seen coloring books that seem like someone just traced stills from the film, like Sherlock, Star Trek, and Serenity. If I remember correctly. They had an ungodly amount of excess lines and that is the only explanation - tracing. They were awful. Too distracting to even try to color. Thus far AI books are only on Amazon's self publishing platform. Big publishers are still trying to figure out the legal ramifications of publishing AI I imagine. You are looking for new books released since maybe October of 2022 ish. That is when it became widely available to the public I think. Maybe before to some serious tech geeks, who can speak tech... I am suspicious of anything new. Another sign is how many books have they put out in a small span of time. That Grungun Hall hack put out like 10+ ish books in the span of a few months. Art by a human is time intensive.!!! If a human could do one a month, I would be really impressed. Also, the AI art has a weird look about it. And if your not an artist is going to be hard to tell. In some ways it is too perfect and in other ways it is not perfect enough. I can't boil down a lifetime of studying, doing, making, looking, and evaluating beginner to advanced artworks into a few sentences to make someone see the inconsistencies. So for me, as I said in a past video, they either need to be an established artist pre-AI with a distinctive style (like Deborah Miller or Karla Magana) or show their work on KZbin or some other platform. If one is really doing the work it is not very difficult be it in the art programs or via sketches . I hope that answers some AI questions. Let me know if you have any other questions. Silly question: Does Amazon list coloring books as A.I. art? I really don’t plan on supporting that movement. 😒 I’d rather buy books or PDF’s from a human who is using their talent to support themselves or make extra $.

Thank you for not supporting such foolery and lazy get rich (?) quick schemes. It should be considered fraud and one should have to obviously claim that they are selling an AI book. Like cigarettes have to have a warning label. But, that would be ethical and we live in a capitalist society... Buyer beware. I applaud your moral choices and personally appreciate it. To my knowledge, they do not have to label it as AI. But, I think that if enough people returned their accidentally purchased AI books, Amazon would begin requiring them to label them as such. Buyers can return under the fraudulent description option. That is one of the reasons Amazon accepts for returns. As for how to recognize them, that is harder. Be suspicious of anything that has a publication date after October ish of last year, 2022. Another sign is how many has any one artist put up. The Grungun Hall hack has flooded the market with many books in a matter of months. No one can draw that fast. And to me they have a strange look about them, that I can't put into words. Kind of fuzzy and gray scale-y... If they are portraits the hands and fingers usually aren't right. I am pretty sure Warrior Mice and Dragons with Pearls are AI books. I would be highly suspicious of anyone new on the scene. Unless they show their work on KZbin or some other platform, I would assume that they are AI hacks and trying to make a quick buck. Sorry if I sound so cynical, but everyday a video goes up on how to make and sell AI coloring books. It rather disgusts me. Thank you so much for asking. Let me know if you have further questions. What do you type in Amazon to find the used books

Hello! Just type in the book name. It will always give you a "new" price, unless it is no longer in print. On a computer under the new price in tiny font you will see used offerings and other options/ sellers. On my phone the used offerings are a little further down. Definition from idsnews: "AI art generates its pieces through taking and combining pieces of artwork from all over the internet without giving any sort of credit to the original artists. AI art companies are essentially stealing art from actual artists and profiting from their work." So, a person sits at a keyboard and types in a few words and in a few seconds an app creates a piece of art for them. I am happy to pay someone who trained for years and practiced for years and then took several hours to make a sketch and then did the same thing for 25 other sketches. Then put them into a book to sell to me. I am not willing to pay some idiot who never trained and can't draw, but had a computer program do it. What utter laziness. They just want a get rich quick scheme. And I am not going to give it to them. I hope that helps. Have a great week. :)
