I would like to see how you built the liftout, and track work? The connection of the rails? How did you do yours?

My lift outs are actually swing gates constructed with 2x2’s and 3/4 plywood. Basic framing and angle supports so that it doesn’t sag. I used a Piano Hinge as it provides better support. The gate is powered, and I simply laid the track across the bridge, and cut it with a dremell so it would open again. The little gap in the rail won’t affect anything. As for lining it up to that the rails align perfectly… there is no such thing

Your layout just keeps getting better and better. That extra room is larger than it appears and that room and the 2nd level by the windows is going to add so much to the operation of the layout. I like the changes you made. Thanks for sharing the layout and plans with us. What is that room behind the windows?

Lots of great changes to an already nice RR…really like the dead end branch line servicing the many industries…surprised the staging room can accommodate 48inch radius curves
