This anime is such an underrated gem. Not a lot of people are talking about it right now, but in the years to come I hope it gets the love it deserves.

You have to be Shounen to be known these days. But I do agree with you.

It's definitely not underrated. It's underexposed.

i wouldn't say this anime is underrated, since the video has 5,060,142 views and most of the viewer probably google searched the song. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
After watching March comes in like a lion for a while, I quickly realized that the creators of this anime wanted to create something that would touch people's hearts, instead of something that'll sell. An indisputable gem.

they created something extraordinary in a sea of fanservice anime.
Its 2023 and I still find myself rewatching this show atleast once a year. I keep up with the manga and check in every day or two in hopes chica umino makes us another chapter. Its one of my favorites of all time and I don't think that will ever change.
I love this kind of story, where the main character goes through positive character development. The more people they meet, and the more positive experiences they have, the better they become. Like Natsume Yuujinchou, my favorite series.

Memoria Lux That is kind of funny to read that comment ! I just ended Natsume Yuujinchou, which I reaaaally liked ! and I searched for another anime with this kind of feeling. I found "Fune wo amu" (The great Passage? even if it's not what that means) that was great for a word lover like me. And tonight I ended up watching Sangatsu ni Lion. Now I'm at the 5th episode already... Haha, vivan las vacaciones !

Maybe you would be able to appreciate Honey and Clover as well, unless you have seen it already. Same author as Sangatsu. Same artstyle, same atmosphere. Lovely.

As somebody who struggles to live because of mental health problems, i find Kiriyama Rei's character to be such a huge inspiration in real life. The visualization of his daily life as a daily struggle of treading that "violent, stormy sea" or that "gray-colored environment" is an accurate representation of his hardships in dealing with his loneliness and depression. To continue living while carrying such a heavy burden like that is no joke, tears always roll down in my eyes every single time Kiriyama narrates his tragic past in the anime.

One of the things that caught my attention, was how the colours, the music, all that surrounded Rei was so dark when he was depressed. I love it when Hina and his sisters appear in his life and everything keeps going more warm and colorful as the story grows. That and so many other things makes this anime one of my favorite. Bump Of Chicken did an amazing work! I love the opening and ending they made.
Bump of Chicken always awakens some feelings within me.. Even when I don't understand all of the words, their music just touches something on the inside.. And it's like this with every song they make.. Their music reaches across the cultures, across the language barriers, it's just something so beautiful. I hope they continue making more and more beautiful songs like this.

I think that's a universal thing with music. Whether you can understand all the words or not, whether it even has words or not, you still get that spine tingling, hair raising feeling that just makes you smile like a dumb idiot.

Just realized that this came before the anime and it’s just beautiful to me that they made a song for a manga before it was anime😭 Bump of chicken is the best 🥺🥰

march comes in like a lion is not just a show, it is a piece of art. It was not just made, it was crafted. A true gem in a sea of shows out there.
I still come back after 4 years after watching this anime and still think it's songs and characters are the absolute most relatable things in digital media ever. Bump of Chicken nailed the feeling of this show.
