I was only thinking yesterday, when would you be doing a video and here you are! The bloomers look great and I am sure you will get a lot of use out of them. I have been busy sewing making both linen and Indian block print dresses in anticipation of warmer days... Your latest knitting project will look great with the dress you are wearing. I hope you have a wonderful few days in your off grid location. It sounds very much up my street. I would suggest using the one skein of hand dyed wool for your tee top therefore leaving the others for something else. Making a striped top would leave a lot of wool unused plus the Emerald colour really suits you the best. Have a wonderful few days away, Sophie.

Hello Sophie, thanks for another lovely comment, I always enjoy reading them! I think you're right about the one colour for the top, and that seems to be the consensus. I think I'll cast it on when I'm finished with the cardigan. Your linen and block print dresses sound lovely for summer 😊 I hope you're doing well and have been having fun sewing!

Love the cardigan and dress ❤️ I’ve only used Finull in selbu mittens but I’m considering trying a colourwork sweater this fall/winter!

They have such a lovely range of colours, I was just thinking it'd be a perfect yarn for colourwork or fairisle :)

I love Rauma Finull and use it quite a lot in knitting and weaving projects. I live in Norway, so it’s easy for me to buy it. It softens up a little after washing and blooms as well. I’ve also been drawn to this bright green color this spring. Could I ask which colorway you’re using? 💚

Ah that's good to know! I'm really looking forward to blocking and wearing it now. It's colour 4137 🌿

I’m in love with your bloomers-would you ever consider grading and releasing a pattern? (Totally understandable if not!!) PS I received your Patreon box a week or so ago (I’m in Canada) and the yarns are beautiful!! They fit exactly within the colour palette I’ve been leaning toward lately. I’ve got a newborn at home so not sure when I’ll find time to use them 😅, but they’re nice to look at for now at least
@threadandyarn5 ай бұрын
Hey Helena! I'm so glad your box arrived and you like the yarns 🥰 I had fun putting the colours together for everyone 😊 The bloomers were also really fun - I have wondered about them as a pattern, but it would be a while off because the grading takes quite a long time. Maybe one day though!

I absolutely love your videos, Lorna! You inspire me. I didn't quit catch the name of the blue gingham linen at the end of the video. Is it still available?

Thanks, Kim! Glad you're enjoying them 🥰 the linen is called Frankie Blue, I think!

I feel like you rather want the jade tee and then use the other colours in an autumn sweater haha! That way you'll use up the colours in something youäll wear? :)

That shawl looks beautiful already with the bees, the colour is perfect! I really really want to try and knit my first cardigan but the yarn is too expensive for me right now
@threadandyarn6 ай бұрын
Thank you 😊 yes, good yarn is expensive, especially in jumper quantities. I got this yarn from a local destash event - my knitting group does them quite regularly now and it can be a good way to find new yarn and rehome other bits you're less sure about (that someone else will love)?

Really love the colours of your yarns - and can't believe you also have the teal blue check from M&M - I bought some of that last summer and still waiting for the perfect pattern to use it for! Looking forward to seeing the rucksacks - always seems to be a tricky thing to make - maybe you could show us how you do some of the more awkward bits? The bloomers are fab - well done.
@threadandyarn6 ай бұрын
Hey Judy - ah, funny! It is a lovely teal colour 😊 I can definitely film a little of the rucksack making. It'll be the first time I've made this pattern, but I've seen some good reviews.

Wish I lived in the UK again so I could shop at your store and take your classes. I think you should make the t in one color. I'm amazed you have enough yarn dyed in one color. I guess I need to dye more at a time.
@threadandyarn6 ай бұрын
Hi Patti, that'd be lovely :) glad you're enjoying the videos. I'm wondering about doing an online workshop at some point too 🥰 I found a really big aluminium pan that I dye in at my local market, it helps with dyeing in quantity! Though I tend not to put more than four skeins in a time in it so they can all move around.

Another really lovely video , love the bloomers! This might be totally superfluous, but you might consider wool moths might be behind the hole in your cardigan, armpits in wool sweaters is usually where they make holes. You'd know if you had them because you'd somtimes see a golden-ish coloured small moth or two around where you keep your clothes. Anyway, just wanted to put it out there, because i had moths once and it's good to get rid of them quickly ^^ have a nice day thanks for the video!
@threadandyarn6 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks! It's a good point. I'm hoping I'm OK though as I'm hyper vigilant (paranoid as I've had them eat through a beautiful stash in my last house!) and haven't seen any around. The curse of the wool lover. I might pop things in the freezer for a bit, just to be safe though. Thanks for the reminder 😊 glad you enjoyed the video and bloomers! I thought of you when I was talking about my trip away, it reminded me of one of the comments you left recently about knitting in a little Scottish cottage!

Really enjoyed your video, I used to live near Rye and miss going into Merchant and Mills! I am growing some dye plants for the first time this year. I am excited to give it a go. Where do you source your undyed yarn?
@threadandyarn6 ай бұрын
Oh that must have been lovely to be so close! I think I would find it too tempting 😅 very exciting about your dye plants, which ones are you growing? I find the undyed wool from a few places - there's a local farm near me called Woodchester House, Jamiesons sell undyed cones of their lovely 4ply, and I also have a trade account with Laxtons who are up in Yorkshire 😊
