I think you’ll quite enjoy Deadhouse Gates - it is one of my least favorite in the series, but still absolutely love it, and evho that the ending is insane. Definitely count me in the list of fantasy readers that considers ASOS the greatest fantasy book ever written. I quite enjoyed my re-read of Golden Son, and am excited that so many people are reading/re-reading it right now. Can’t wait for you to get to F&F, my all-time favorite trilogy. Dr. Fantasy Hype!

I liked GoTM better than Deadhouse Gates because it was so dark and grim and was making me depressed. Fitz is one of my favourite fantasy characters as well. I love how Robin Hobb represents animals in this series. I would love to read Philip's book as soon as it is available. Exciting line up, you've got here. :)

I don't think you're alone in that one! I do think Gardens of the Moon is more approachable than people think so if you're interested in the series I would definitely urge you to give it a shot before ruling it out! Another exciting TBR!! I am so anxious to see what all the fuss is about with A Storm of Swords. I hope it will live up to my expectations and I am curious to see if I will still be just as shocked by certain scenes despite having watched the adaptation already. I looked at the contents page and saw some very exciting new POVs, so I can't wait to dive in! Also, just a piece of advice for Fitz and the Fool... start it when you have the time to binge book 2 and 3 right after it, because I can guarantee you that you won't be able to stop once you have started that series. Dying to hear your thoughts, I think it's an absolute masterpiece of an ending! ❤‍🔥 And yay for The Way of Edan!! I can't believe we only have 3 more weeks of waiting left, time has flown by! I think ASOS holds up extremely well on its own even if you've seen the show tbh...there is just SO much in that book that was either adapted differently or not adapted at all and how Martin weaves everything together is extraordinary! That was actually part of my plan and I'm going to try to start FA when I feel confident I can get to 2 & 3 pretty quickly right afterwards because I absolutely don't put it past myself wanting to binge the whole trilogy! What a great reading month for you. BOTH Deadhouse Gates and A Storm of Swords? Two absolute masterpieces in the genre. And "rollercoaster" is the perfect description of Deadhouse Gates. Wisdom of crowds was an absolutely incredible book, tied up the entire first law series so well, except that it leaves room for more, with how it ended. I can't wait for the devils by Abercrombie, then his return to the citcle of the world

Words of advice - don't start the last hundred odd pages of Malazan, or Ch 7 of Bonehunters, late at night as you will be up way too late. Spoken from experience.

I'm so sad...I absolutely hated city of brass. I found it boring at some points and the main character annoying. He character seemed sloppy as she did things that didn't make sense with her character build.

Sorry to hear that! It's been years since I read that book but I do remember a few things about the character work bothering me a little bit but I definitely enjoyed it overall!
