I was lucky enough to be introduced to these guys, personally after this album. They had another one recorded and were trying to shop it to labels in 1991. I knew nothing about them, but listened to similar bands. The new direction music was going in was to be with less keyboards. I had to learn these tunes, so that overdubs, and guitar harmonies could be reproduced live. Marchello has never had the best luck between gear being stolen and the new landscape of music changing to grunge. It's nice to see people still appreciate it. Gene has joked about a Japan tour, I think he was just joking. John Micelli went on to play with Meatloaf. Nick the Bass player went on to play with Nine Days (Story of a Girl)

A band that I wish would reunite or at the very least maybe the brothers Marchello could join forces and start a new band together because Stefan is a good lyricist , music writer & vocalist Gene is a shred master on the guitar & they both harmonize well together. I would like to see Gene Marchello play the guitar more often instead of doing cover band vocals & Stefan Marchello is doing a fantastic job of keeping Peppi's music alive by continuing to keep the Good Rats legacy alive.

I know it's technically AOR/Melodic Rock, but my GOD it's heavy as fuck! Before the shredding, it sounds like it could be somewhere between Pantera & Metallica...and that shredding would make Yngwie Malmsteen green with envy. My mind is blown. This is a godly tune.

Killer song. Does anyone else notice that after the big solo, the song speeds up a bit? Almost like they are so pumped up that they need to play faster and lost their timing.

Excellent tune!!! Heard this for the first time on the "Power Chord" show on WMMS (Cleveland) back in 1989. Still have that week's "Power Chord" show on open-reel (nothing says OLD SCHOOL AUDIOPHILE quite like using Teac A-1500 and Sony TC-440 open-reel machines wired to timers to "time shift" a favorite radio program while out at the local rock clubs).

If you can find a copy of PLAY DUM (by the band DUM), that's basically the later version of the Good Rats with Peppi and his sons. This song is on there under he title "Ashes To Ashes" along with a slew of other brain-melting tracks.

Seems so long ago. The keyboardist, Gary Bivona, was my next door neighbor for a couple of years in Florida. Sweetist man you could ever meet. Versatile musician, and then responsibilities and age take over and the next thing you hear he's doing Tony Bennett cover tunes in South Florida bars.... happily I add. Miss those days.

I remember hearing this song on the radio once on a special "For Rocker's Only" radio show in Philadelphia. I used to tape every show so I could learn all the new bands and songs and play along, I remember this song for the guitar work and wondering who was playing guitar on this. I was quite impressed at the time and still am. So who was it?

Hey ossobuco77... thanks man for the Marchello's... especially "Brown Eyes" cause that song is one of my favourite... I would b very gratefull if you upload the rest of the song on the album... so much gratefull. I have the cassette from my brother back in 1990 which I was luckily just find it in my old house after a loooong lost. The cassette doesn't have any word at all not even the case so I just find out now that the band name is Marchello not Marcello. Thanks man..
