the nuance on that pass by Suggs at 40 is incredible. He had to lead the field, spin the ball to bounce ahead, and hit the floor where it would come up into where no one was yet. Love the fact that the last 57 seconds took 57 seconds instead of 20 minutes. Ballers know that years of practice, years of skill, blood, sweat, and tears help to create a place where skill and luck can meet. To not give Gonzaga and UCLA credit for an amazing game seems like a travesty to me. When a guy practices a shot everyday and then makes it in the game it’s not just luck. Suggs form was spot on (20:36), his momentum carried him (and the ball) into a bank shot. Planned that way? No. Pure luck? No. Skill & luck are involved sometimes. But ballers create more of those moments via hard work. These guys have devoted their lives to their craft. Beautiful game.

Games like this are exactly why I believe March Madness is the greatest sporting event held every year. Other sports can have drama, but no other sport has a playoffs with 64 teams and as much drama. And no other yearly sport has kids that show such emotion, whether they win or they loose. They really do leave it all out on the court. It is inevitable that sooner or later, schools will begin to pay college athletes over and above the pay they already get in the form of full scholarships. When that happens, it is my view that these kids will not have to try as hard with the strong desire to reach the level where they get paid for playing as they will already be getting paid. Then you will see less and less of moments like this.

Not saying this cuz I'm a bruin fan... but that was the greatest college game I ever saw... better than Kentucky Duke, better than Duke unlv.... big shot after big shot.... surreal how we lost but I'm sure this game will be remembered for 30 plus years especially if Gonzaga finishes the deal. Hope they do tbh

"A controversial charge call with one second remaining in regulation had UCLA fans furious at Lucas Oil Stadium. Bruins Johnny Juzang was driving to the lane with the score tied at 81 and appeared to draw contact from Gonzaga defenders, but Drew Timme drew a charge call." I saw the play from different screen angles. Johnny went to his left around Drew. In one frame you can see both Johnny's shoulders and the ball past Drew. Drew looked like he put his hand on Johnny's right shoulder and pushed off to make it look like he was pushed. Tough call for the refs.. Any given day the call or score could have gone a different way. I have coached many sports for many years. Know you guys are winners. But more important you did your best. Can't wait till next season.

Amazing game. For the few of you who want to start cherry picking foul calls that supposedly would have helped UCLA otherwise-there were no-call travels on the Bruins, and Bernard fouled Suggs (4:58) just before Riley blocked Suggs (that’s why Suggs had no lift). Was Riley set (14:41) on this no call? Did Jáquez push him into Riley? The refs are not perfect and often the best game is where everyone is forced to make a play in the strongest forms (despite fouls, and extra steps from the opposition). Timme was set about 8 feet from the hoop (6:16). Charge. No ref would change that call. Did Jáquez benefit from a bad call (3:54) here? Did he loose control of the ball? Close call either way. One of the best games of all time with both teams shooting at extraordinary high efficiency under tremendous pressure. Just, wow!
