Totally agree 100% and thought that as the tournament progressed! Both Duke and Wisconsin had been battle hardened throughout the season while Kentucky basically cruised with very few close calls! They took advantage of what had been an overall down year in the SEC, as evidenced by the fact of their five teams that made the Dance, only Kentucky made it through 2 the second weekend! Have always been disappointed as to people's perception that Duke didn't play anybody to get to Indy! And I've always begged to differ! San Diego St was a tournament perennial at that time with Steve Fisher, Utah had a very good team led by Delon Wright and the Zags are always a March fixture and then of course Mr March himself Tom Izzo we took down in the semifinals! So just because of an opponents' seeding doesn't mean Duke didn't earn it! Plus, it was the best defensive run we've had of any of the five titles! I've been a Duke fan since 1981-82 and that defensive run of ours is up there with '06 Florida and '84 Georgetown! Nobody scored more than the 63 Wisconsin had in those six games against us!

Tyus Jones was so clutch with his 3s, driving to the basket, and free throw shooting late in games. Kentucky had a lot of individual talent but Duke players meshed well that year and played better as a team. Harrison twins took some questionable shots and had some truly bizarre decisions with the ball in their hands that year for Kentucky. Kentucky's roster was deeper but as K told Nantz, 8 is enough.

Not at all. Low-scoring games decided by refs are nowhere close to "legendary."

Of course hindsight always provides us what if's! But what if's don't produce an outcome! Kentucky was still a superb team and u know for a fact Randle wasn't coming back anyway

Great game. Kaminsky had a couple of good college games allowing for trash talking Ariz while losing his touch as an elite basketball player. Now he sits the bench for the Arizona Phoenix Suns. Poor Arizona........

And not his fault! He and his role in the Sixers lineup was manipulated to the point they used him to slowly destroy his progress
@bradlewis65144 жыл бұрын
They held him back instead of letting him PLAY! What I mean is that they'd have him on the court for solid minutes one game and restrict him the next! And they didn't waiver from that which hurt his advancement

Pretty badly officiated game with Grayson Allen able to elbow his way thru defense and get calls his way. Allen the tripper....
