UCONN fans have been missing Paige all year. Even when she came back, she looked like a shadow of herself in terms of confidence and skill. But we knew we needed her to get to the Final Four, so it was ok that Geno kept running her out there and trying to get her to remember who she is. I think the big moment actually came Saturday when she dove for that loose ball and banged her knee hard enough to yell in pain. She was fine afterwards, and I think she realized in that moment: "I'm going to be OK. I'm not Humpty Dumpty -- I'm together and I can play like me again." Last night, The Real Paige Bueckers™ returned to us just in the nick of time. Then she did what Paige do. She is something else to watch when she gets into big game mode like that -- she can put a team on her back and carry them and the rest of the team gets looser when she takes that pressure off them.
@Backroads232 жыл бұрын
I kept saying this about Paige since last year. She has to know that she’s the best player on that court at all times and doesn’t need to let the game come to her. Too often, due to Geno’s system, she has meh first halves trying to play within the system. Forget that. You are a superstar. It’s the elite 8 now final 4. Just take the game by the horns and dominate from the tip.
@mrfunnylookinhayes90882 жыл бұрын
I prove of what you said, but Geno wanted her to score more and she is always trying to get everyone else going. Geno said it last year that he want her to look for her shot every chance she get. But you know Paige is Team first and box score later.. You heard her after the game when she told her teammate while crying. THIS WAS FOR YOU.

This was one of the best basketball games I ever saw. No less exciting than men's BB. Page was in a zone. She was hitting shots and sinking her free throws as cool as a cucumber. They really need to figure this thing out so far as promoting women's basketball with the male audience. Men who appreciate sports will love any good "contest", it doesn't matter what the gender. If they[TV promoters] do a better job, men will watch more of these games. I can say, during track and field at the Olympics, men watch the women's competition as intensely as we do the women, so there's there's definitely a formula to be exploited with promoting women's sports. Sorry I didn't mean to go off into a gender thing, but this was one of the greatest games ever played in college basketball, and perhaps 80% of sports fans missed it.
