Growing up, watching the tournament was mine and my dad‘s thing. We never missed a game. From the time I could talk, we watched together, even if he had to pull me out of school sometimes. He always made sure I stayed up late on championship night so we could watch the song, and the highlight reel, together too. He passed away this February. The song was always a tearjerker for me, but it means something more now. Brings back all the memories of the times we watched together, yelling at the TV and getting excited over the upsets.

I honestly believe Kansas would have won that tournament. Only a natural disaster like Covid stopped Kansas from winning what would have been their 5th title. Best point guard in Dotson, had Ochai backing him up, had Harris. Had Braun, Azubeke, McCormack, one of the best defenders in the country in Garrett, had Isiah Moss, another deadly shooter. That Kansas 2020 team was dangerous. Absouletely loaded.

@@twoquickii1330, Jay Wrights retirement shocked me. That came out of left field. Agreed, 2008 was Kus revenge on Carolina. This year, Ku just added to what they already have. I love watching this tournament every year. It’s my favorite time for sports. My favorite 3 weeks of sports is March Madness. These kids some of them are seniors who never know when their last game might be so they know they have to give it their all. None of 95% of these kids will not make it to the NBA so they aren’t playing because of the money they are playing for the love of the game that they have been playing since their childhood. I’m on the edge of my seat on the couch every game my wife hates this time of year because I’m glued watching our 75 inch flat screen tv but I always have to remind her that it’s only once a year and how important it is to me. I will continue to watch this tournament into my elderly years filling out brackets and getting emotional over this great American game!
