Ammon Bakarri-O FOH. Durant was way better than Melo in college. It’s not his fault that the players around him wasn’t good. Plus his team didn’t hide by playing the 2-3 zone. That stuff is for pansies. Syracuse his Melos biggest weakness and that is his poor defense. Durant was special and it was beautiful to watch. @@vasantos-re4hb not really! When it came down to it, their we're two underlying factors u obviously aren't aware of if that's your reasoning! 1) Hinrich and Collison were the remaining links to the 1999-00 class that had been influential in him not taking the Carolina job then and they were graduating 2) outgoing Kansas AD Bob Frederick - Frederick was AD at Kansas when Dean Smith had recommended Roy for the KU job in 1989! Frederick and Williams became the tightest of lifelong friends and co-workers! There'd been speculation once Frederick announced he was stepping down between the '02 and '03 seasons Roy wouldn't stay! Plus an added outlier was Roy did not like Frederick's replacement! And Roy made it clear several times in the media his disdain for the guy! Yes he wasn't gonna turn down the Carolina job a second time because of the respect he had for Dean!
