After rewatching this game, I can't believe ppl were complaining about the foul calls. If anything, there should've been even more called against WV. That was their entire game plan....
@1398go7 ай бұрын
I think they thought they can just barrel through like a bull, it just shows how novice their team is. Good effort, good team, but too young to face someone like Clark. Lol I act like Clark’s much older. But she is….with her talent.

The 6:28 mark in the 1st? She gets away with offensive fouls far too often. She's a great player... other than the crying and flopping.

Exactly. Ultra aggressive defense against Iowa. Clark was called for offensive foul around the 8 minute mark. Replay showed her off hand is getting grabbed constantly and if she moves it at all the defense flops. Shortly before that she was tackled from behind and no call of course.

You can say that for every game Iowa played in the tournament. Mainly the championship game! Half of South Carolina should have fouled out.

Not sure why I watched this game a second time. It was more frustrating than the first. There is a huge difference between playing good defense and being a "fouling machine." Even with all of their many fouls, WV could and should have been called for more. Frustrated viewer from Michigan here.

What game were you watching? Yes, I can honestly say the refs favored Iowa. 30 free throws to 5 in favor of Iowa and your trying to B.S. us into believing the refs didn't favor Iowa? I want some of whatever you're smoking.
@guylindquist3386 ай бұрын
@@VincentBaker-j1b The favored or better teams almost always have a free throw advantage. LSU and SC had far greater FT disparity throughout the tournament and yet nobody says peep. Every team that played Iowa admitted that their game plan was for an ultra-aggressive defense - which means they will foul more, cover tighter, play rougher, etc. If they didn't Clark would light them up.

Stuelke was trying to extricate her arm as they fell, that was a flagrant foul by Moore, she threw Hannah face first onto the floor, she didn't let go, she knew what she was doing.
@jdaniels1313Ай бұрын
I would've called a tech or a flagrant on Moore that one, not for Stuelke grab, but for reaching arm back sideways to smack Caitlin in the face, not in any way making a play on the ball. I'm OK with refs leaving it as a common foul, but would have been legit to upgrade also.

Most of their flops were legit in that frustrated Iowa player was giving WV player a forearm push-off and WV player had good position. Refs did right call on these. Also got calls right IMO on offensive foul on WV player barreling into Gabbie Marshall. These NCAA refs SO MUCH BETTER than WNBA refs.
@tinkerpertao83837 ай бұрын
martin, marshal, affolter need 2 amp up against LSU. martin N affolter should learn cross left right fade away jump shots. set up marshal 4 3points shots otherwise she can't contribute with intense on your face defense. clark don't seem 2 get 3point shots under on your face defense as well. LSU female ncaa seems 2b like Detroit male NBA of old. If LSU shots down clark with on your face defense, other players hav 2 step up their game.

It's sad to see young players copy the out of control flopping happening in the NBA, what is going on. What ever happened to 'let the players decide the game not the refs'? It's sad when players are rewarded for flopping and selling fouls. there should be post game penelties handed out, in the NBA< and in College games. As it is completely ruining the game...

A foul is a foul. Are u blind? WV is a disgrace to WBB.

@@amanrush7722 Now a days, the ref's in the NBA play like a 6th man. The thing is they don't even call basic game rules like traveling, or goal tending, illegal screens, etc Those are the things that if called enforce players to have skills to be able to play. When a person can take 5 gather steps, and then hop, come down, and then rejump again, and not get called for traveling it is seriously ridiculous. And all that 'helping' lower the skill level required to make plays with the ball, etc, just ruin the quality level of the game. It should be very strict at the level of the NBA, or WNBA. The players should not be able to get away with scooping the ball, their hand clealy under the ball, and turning 90 degrees left, and then spinning 180 right, and all the while the ball hasn't left their hand. That is just blatant cheating. yet it happens continually now, especially for some players. And it is ruining the game, compared to the skill level of the 90's, 80',s even 70's. And ignorant fans who don't understand that just because it seems like Lebron is making some great run at the net. When he can take 5 gather steps, hop, come back down completely and then hop again, without dribbling the ball once, and not get called, that is not skill, it's blatant cheating. And it's sad that fans don't understand that what MJ was way more skilled because he had to actually dribble the ball, and not scoop the ball under his arm, etc... Making the plays far far harder, and only people who play usually will understand the difference. So even before getting into fouls, we are seeing terrbile officianting..
