Excellent video Marcin it's not easy to handle and unhook the pike in the high rider, the calmer the lake the better, there is a company in the UK Railblaza online sales they are from New Zealand, they sell plastic specialist attachments for the high rider to attach your fishfinder, and for a rod holder etc you can glue them on with the inflatable marine glue and they also come with a specialist bonding material underneath!
@MarcinKantor3 жыл бұрын
Certainly a bit tricky, and controlling the boat while doing everything else 😅 I've actually ordered their accessories after that trip. Got an external gopro holder, next vids from the tube will be a bit better angle
@bosco2923 жыл бұрын
@@MarcinKantor l saw a Dutch guy on KZbin he glued a specialist propellor onto his high rider belly boat underneath and a battery goes in the back and he has a controller to hand its sensational but a bit expensive for the propellor €1200, the flippers and oars do the trick but if the lake is windy with waves you will get pushed back into the reeds! Hard arm work to get back out!
@MarcinKantor3 жыл бұрын
@@bosco292 yes, seen them. Expensive enough. Was thinking would it not make more sense to get a kayak instead of a tube with that thing. You're right, with a bit of wind tho, the flippers are next to useless, oars just slightly better
@bosco2923 жыл бұрын
@@MarcinKantor The propellor would be worth more than the float tube, thus l think the oars and flippers will suffice, the high rider will put you right on the feeding pike tough, the lake has to be calm no wind no waves to properly enjoy the belly boat. Smaller lakes are better, l use the savage gear life jacket too!

Brilliant video Marcin keep them coming! What depth finder were you using? How does that fit?
@MarcinKantor3 жыл бұрын
Thanks William. it's an older Garmin 75SV series (I think). 7in, side scan, down scan, maps and contouring. I just have it on the self-made battery dry box (check latest video for a better look at it), I put it all into one of belly boat bags and secure with bungi cords. It was meant to be a temporary solution for this first trip but works very well and I've no reason to change it. If you want it done properly you would have railblaza attachments to secure it with the battery kept behind the seat

Hi Marcin, great vid, do think the belly float could be used in inshore open water for bass fishing? also looked at the Savage grear 330 kayak but not sure about the drift problem on open water! Thought that the fins with the belly float would help hold position on the open water. Cheers.
@MarcinKantor3 жыл бұрын
Yes Graham, the fins would definitely help. You will drift much faster in the kayak than a tube. Now, if there's a tide running tho, I wouldn't use the tube, it would be hopeless. With a moderate wind you can just about managed to keep your position in it. Add the current and that's it.
@grahamgerman31253 жыл бұрын
@@MarcinKantor Thanks Marcin, sounds like a no. I do have a kayak, I will stick with that. From my last Email I mentioned teaser fly's, I have got "surf candy" fly's for the teasers, may be see that video soon about the rigging of a teaser. All the best Graham.

@MarcinKantor3 жыл бұрын
normally I put them on their back and pull the jaw to open it, always works. Just got caught there by surprise with the fly getting tangled in the teeth lol that was funny, never had that problem when lure fishing ;)
@danieljack13 жыл бұрын
What kind of depth are you letting your lures get to?
@MarcinKantor3 жыл бұрын
there's no a simple answer to that question. The mantra of large lures fishing is to work them in the top layers of the water, say the top few feet. When pike are feeding they will raise a lot to a lure worked that way, and that method works well in depth of 1-8m, so where you'd usually fish for them. This, however, is the go to method when the water is warmer and pike feed well. In the cold water (this time of the year) pike will move in deeper and won't chase lures as aggresively. If I know they feed on the top of the shelf I fish mid water in relatively shallow water. Otherwise I fish deep and slow, to reach the pike that's sitting on the bottom and is not keen to chase lure...
