Netflix never completes the best series.dark was an exception. They are incentives to license trash short term to get views. Mindhunter burned through too much CGI money removing everything and adding it back. Silly stuff like accessabile curbs or house style.

Lol, "historical" show based upon the exaggerations and outright lies of a conman who made many claims we know are false. Funnily enough, there is zero proof Marco Polo was ever actually in China. "His" book is full of errors and contradictions, and claims of seeing battles he never possibly could have (he definitely wasn't an engineer or siege expert either). And my favorite, is the main perpetrator and cause of the bullshit theory that the Khans death is why the Mongols never conquered Europe, something that is directly counter to the Ilkhanate records that say the Mongols were retreating from Europe months before getting the news after many crushing defeats by Central European armies that quickly countered the Mongol tactics (amid a swath of other reasons like weather and terrain). Don't even get me started on the magical kung fu bullshit or the blatant simping for the Mongol and Chinese military while somehow simultaneously making them look like idiots about gunpowder weapons that they invented.

It's the Son of Kublai Khan prince Jingim. He's to immersed in Chinese culture and considers himself to be more Chinese then Mongol. He's relaxing/immersing himself in Mongol song since he has a bit of a internal struggle between chinese influence and his mongol birth.

Gosh, I feel stupid! Marco Polo was what got me fascinated by Mongolian history, and this scene made me fall absolutely in love with Mongolian folk music. That love brought me eventually to this channel, but I had no idea until now that the person who did the song is the same person who does this channel 😅 I love this song, and I love this scene, I've rewatched it dozens of times so I can enjoy the music and the singing. It's my favourite scene of the series; I really feel it was a turning point for Prince Jingim, and it's the moment that my opinion of him started to change until he became my favourite character. Thank you for this beautiful and amazing song!! 💜💜💜

You all nailed it. This was a show that changed my world and should have gone on to greater things. It was so well written and produced. And yeah, Batzorig Vaanchig - I'm a soft Western European, but this man's singing places me among the horsemen of the Mongolian plains and the wind-scoured Altai Mountains. But the vast, empty steppes the Mongols, under Temüjin (known as Chinngis/Genghis Khan), forged the largest contiguous Empire the world has ever seen. 800 years ago they carved out a legacy which stretched from the Pacific to the Mediterranean. They halved the population of China. Can you imagine? They measurably reduced the amount of global exhaled carbon dioxide in the atmosphere owing to the death they wrought.
