Kindisch Stories returns with a chapter from Marco Tegui that features eight completely new and exclusive tracks as well as two remixes of classics from the label's back catalogue.
Peruvian musician Marco Tegui began his musical journey in 2009, firstly making an impact in South America before graduating to the world stage. He is now based in Ibiza and was previously A&R at Berlin’s iconic Bar25 label as well as managing its sister imprint Sirin Music before starting his own DowntempoLove label. He has a magical live set that combines the same rich harmonies, hypnotic sounds and melodic synths as his productions on labels like Get Physical, Stil For Talent and many more. This new album is a rich tapestry of South American melodies, instrumentals and Tegui's own exquisite musicianship.
Up first is a remix of Israel Vich & Marco Tegui's 'Tortuga' - a Kindisch back-catalogue track from 2019 that is a woozy and late-night sound to draw you in. 'Amun-Ra' brings bubbly synths and intoxicating melodies while 'Clarao de Lua' is a more gentle sound with Portuguese vocals and sunny melodies from acoustic guitar. 'Panjabi' with Solar Kings is the sound of an Indian street market in full flow over breezy grooves, 'Apuyaya' perfectly layers up swaying grooves and Latin percussion with more South American melodies and 'Danzar' is a deep and hypnotic roller with spine-tingling vocals.
After the trance-inducing magic of 'Voodoo' comes the second Solar Kings collaboration 'Wild West,' an evocative and multi-layered track that brings to mind cowboys in the US. 'El Valle Sagrado' Feat. Jon Aragon slows things down again to spine-tingling, candle-lit melodies and sultry chords before Tegui remixes his 2018 collaboration with Israel Vich into a final mesmerising groove.
This is a superb musical journey that also tells the tale of Marco Tegui, one of deep house's finest modern artists.
