signerleo snyder Uh... 1.) Egyptian god cards could only be controlled by people with connections to ancient Egypt, this was explicitly stated. It has nothing to do with the quality of the duelist. The only times DM ever had cards that could only be controlled by worthy people was season 4, where both the Orichalcos and the Legendary Dragons could only be used by worthy duelists... and, lo and behold, Joey, along with Yugi and Kaiba, was one of the three duelists to be chosen by the Legendary Dragons. 2.) He beat the first, second, and third ranked duelists in Japan, came close to beating Kaiba even after Kaiba used the incredibly broken crush card, beat Marik (or would have if it was a non-shadow duel), beat Valon (who beat the American champion and another skilled duelist in a 2 on 1 duel without losing a single life point), reduced the European champion down to 100 life points, and beat/tied Yugi at least once. He's not weak. 3.) You know what people didn't do in Yugioh GX? Use strategy. Most people just threw out the strongest card they could and attacked, and then did it again the next turn. Barely any traps were used. On the other hand, Joey in DM was a strategic player. He used traps intelligently and survived his opponents' attacks, then turned their own strategies against them, oftentimes in ingenious ways. Therefore, I would say that even Joey from the middle of DM would stand a very good chance against - maybe even win against - almost any person in GX, even though the GX duelists had far more and stronger cards. If Joey got access to the cards available to Yugioh GX characters, or if those characters were limited the cards available to Yugioh DM players? The GX characters would need to drastically change their play styles to beat Joey. He just duels using far more intelligence than any of them - including Zane, who is probably my favorite character in GX - do. If you want proof, go back and watch seasons 2, 3, or 4 of the DM anime. You'll see what I mean.

Took a few liberties with Joey's deck... I don't recall him EVER using Darkness NOR Darkness Metal Dragon in the anime/manga. I don't remember Crow ever using a non-Blackwing monster either outside of Blackwinged Dragon... But an EXTREMELY entertaining duel none-the-less! =)

Not a Crow fanboy, but as a blackwing user myself, Crow would have easily crushed Joey, Brooklyn Rage or not. the person using blackwings seriously didn't know how to use them, if it were me, I would have gone for the throat and destroy any chances Joey would have had of making a counter attack, that's just me personally.

This is complete BS. As someone who has played Blackwings since they first came out, I can say that Joey only won because Crow let him - about half a dozen times. And that's despite Crow having a terrible hand. Starting from turn 2, there's no logical explanation to the stuff Crow does. Why would you not summon Gale or Breeze with Shura's effect and then go Armor Master? That leaves you with as solid a defense as you can get with only monsters, and leaves the Blizzard > Shura > Armed Wing option for next turn. I'll stop there before I write a ten page essay. Crow is the true winner here.

Good point, no, GREAT POINT. Though I will point there are countless ways that any of us can say we could have strategized to make a more "logical" move based on duelists play style and such. but this isn't necessarily illogical playing. Like you said you actually play the game and use Blackwings so you know of plenty more capabilities than showcased here. that only would make sense. But Joey is one of the greatest- with that said he's no push over, and im sure crow isn't either from what I seen. Knowing what we know about Joey, Crow, Might've thought it'd be best suite to eliminate joey right away before he got any chance to build a defense around himself. Leaving no time for the thought of defense of his own monsters for a whole turn after to come into mind. From the duels I have seen of Crow, this theory isn't at all far fetched. but that was an awesome catch by you, sir =)

What I described above would also have lead to 1100 or 1300 more damage, as you would have been summoning a monster that you would actually bother attacking with (instead of the 100 atk Mistral that he summoned in def mode). Considering the fact that Armor Master isn't relatively easy to destroy, one would assume that the enemy would play def, to which a surprise Armed Wing would have been a perfect answer. And taking into account the fact, that even if Joey, who is apparently still using archaic cards that lack destruction effects, manages to destroy Armor Master, you still have the option to go to Black-Winged Dragon or Silverwing the Ascendant. And besides, 5D's characters just LOVE their synchros, so there's no reason to go to your second best synchro (by anime standards) while maximising dmg. And I only mentioned one of the multiple misplays. Had Crow indeed wanted to finish Joey off ASAP (like any sensible person would do), then he wouldn't have held back on special summoning an additional monster for no cost whatsoever when he had the chance to. Still, no way I believe that even with the amount of plot powers present in this video, should someone using an ancient-ass deck like this one be able to beat any half decent Blackwing deck if they have atleast a half of your plot power at their disposal. And where the hell is Comrade Swordsman of Landstar? I might actually understand Joey using 3 copies of that.

PiousMuffin I mean, for one lets not be biased here. I was willing to give you credit based upon your last comment because realistically speaking it would, in fact, do slightly more damage and be most effective(by your standards). but lets not make this a thing where the prowess of a deck out weighs the plausible outcome that any duel can have based on the duelist. Crow, while he might be good isn't Joey, who going strictly off the ideals of the show is better than Crow, at least based off of his scripted performances. Just because Joey is using a deck that has little to no arch types(unless one would count the red-eyes monsters as an arch of their own) doesn't mean he cant win. By your Logic, as reference to your last point, if I give a kid who has little to no experience in the game but knows the basics well enough to play the game crows deck and someone like you(who im sure has played the game for yrs) Joey's deck, you shouldn't be able to win because of your deck?? Cmon, im not living in the past when I say this but people need to stop being conventional minded these days when it comes to this game. If You're good at the game any deck you play will work successfully, regardless of how many times you win or lose. I myself, have also spotted ways where Joey could have won before he actually did but that's neither here nor there. to answer your last question, because the guy who put together this joey didn't incorporate all of Joey's Warrior monsters(not that they were necessary). so using something like Comrade wouldn't do much good, especially being a tuner. not to mention that if it wasn't for landstar and silent doom working on normal monsters joey would have lost in that last play.

Well, I think this is enough walls of texts for today. I can see the points you're trying to make, while some of them do seem silly in the context. It's a fact that Crow, or rather the one who made this video, didn't take full advantage of the cards he had. I won't go into the arguement that Joey couldn't win against Crow, as it obviously could happen. I don't think it's honestly possible to have no chance of winning unless you specificly designed your deck like that (and even then, there will always be some card your opponent uses that gives you a .001% chance of winning.) But as I said, I'm not saying that Joey couldn't beat Crow with that deck, just that he shouldn't have one this particular game with the cards they had.

cmon guys! be realistic! by the time 5d's was set to take place in the yr 3000 something??? everyone in all the previous series were all dead. so assuming this duel happened in ANY time period im sure they would have updated their decks, I mean, they didn't have all of the same cards every season, am I right?? Joey didn't have gearfried and little wing card in duelist kingdom? We watch these videos to be entertained and to see what it would be like if realistically these characters ever squared off, and its not like the cards are completely out of context either! they work with the character, remote revenge is definitely something I could've seen joey running. so just enjoy, hell, even make a few suggestions in hopes we'll see some! have an imagination guys! lol

These duels are shit. I know for a fact that 5ds can beat the crap out of the Gx duelist expect for Zane and Jesse. Yusei would beat Jaden, Jaden's deck is too cluttered between Neo-spacian and elemental hero's cards. And Crow would trash the floor with Joey but not Jesse. Zane would crush both Kiaba and Jack his deck is way stronger then Kiaba's three cards Power Bond, Cyber-End Dragon and Limiter Removal game over. I don't get why they would make chazz a rival to Jaden since his deck is weaker then Zane's. Yugi vs Yusei would be a much better duel then Yugi vs Jaden.
