Nobody ever acknowledges how much Yuri Lowenthal fucking CARRIES this game, he's basically the real star of the show. Like, just think about this: Yuri Lowenthal is voicing Larry Foulke in the FMV cutscenes, the little mannerisms and little lip movements can be felt in his performance.... BUT THE PHYSICAL ACTOR ISN'T YURI LOWENTHAL. He's voicing EVERY little detail in Pixy's performance. That man was always giving 150% to his performances.

Fun fact during the mission mayhem depending on the difficulty and ace style 4 characters from ace combat 5 the unsung war can appear Jack Bartlett “Heartbreak One” (Mercenary) Wolfgang Buchner “Huckebein the Raven” (Mercenary) Ashley Bernitz “Grabacr 1” (Mercenary) Michael Heimeroth “Ofnir 1” (Soldier) Also on Mercenary Ace Style Ashley will shoot down Jack and Wolfgang if the player doesn’t intervene which is canonically what happened

That's the context of Zero track. Two former friends 'dancing' against each other in the their planes, matching each other's movements, high in the skies of the Principality of Belka. Hence, the flamenco theme of the track. Awesome isn't it?
@infanteloco2 ай бұрын
Also the way to defeat pixi it is dancing, he draws circles when he made turns, the best way is to do the same but in opposite way, it is like dancing flamenco, and i made that by instinct at the 2nd try, the music just lead me, is pointless and useless to pursuit Pixi in combat, once yo understand it is a Dance so it became easier to defeat him

In my personal head canon, I like to believe that Cipher aka Galm1 was the first incarnation of Razgriz from Legend, as a dark demon first that ravaged the land (because of the Mercenary/Soldier playstyle that allows you to target non-hostiles/neutrals other than enemies and objectives, not to mention the "Demon Lord" title). After the Belkan War he just disappears without a trace and seemingly just went off to "die" then 15 years of slumber, we get to Ace Combat 5, where Razgriz returns but as a hero via the Wardog/Razgriz squadron, where everything they did was seen as "heroic" and never had the option of shooting down non-hostiles
@tunguska15767 ай бұрын
It's not headcanon, that's directly supported also by the lyrics of "Zero"

Zero also contains the Unsung War motif I think it's trying to mirror both Cipher and Pixy, with Pixy repping the melancholic Zero motif, lost in his extremist values and unable to see the hurt he brings and Cipher representing the 5 motif, the original Razgriz song, which is triumphant and representative of the demon becoming a hero

After the cynical dystopian cyberpunk future of the JP version of Ace Combat 3, there's an odd sense of warmth and empowerment found within the trinity of 4, 5 and Zero. It's been 18 years since I last played Zero but I remember it fondly, and I still listen to 'Zero' and 'Near the Border' very regularly since. I wish I could experience it all the first time again.

It's amazing that you can finish this game in one sitting. Thank you for the live gameplay, and I'm glad you love the gameplay of this one. Personally, the beauty of the story in Zero is more about a telltale of Cypher, the Demon Lord of the Round Table. Listen to the stories of many fighters who survived from you and how your actions impacted their lives. some moving on, some getting tramatized, and some admiring you. What a ride. Also, don't forget the DLC for AC7 if you have a plan to replay that game again.

@Argascend7 ай бұрын
As a gameplay tip, you'll find that you can execute tighter turns when you're flying at high speed, then start braking and turning. It's pretty vital if you want to avoid getting into an endless turning fight. The story in Zero has so many details that they keep buried in in-game dialogue and in the unlockable records you get for shooting down certain hidden named aces in each mission. The first half of the story is told fairly clearly. It's the second half involving A World With No Boundaries that's done in almost a Fromsoft fashion. Pixy is himself Belkan but he's no patriot. However, seeing the war get worse and worse (strategic bombing of Hoffnung, Belka's self-nuking) breaks him out of his mid-game funk. He's disgusted with war and wants to stop it and further war at any cost. The final phase of the boss fight against Pixy is intended to simulate a joust. He'll actually give you the time and space so you can turn around and face each other down. On the Belkan side, Gault 1 (one of the route dependent ace squadrons alongside Sorcerer, you fought Wizard) was given a mission by the Belkan "gray men" once the outcome was the war was predictable. He was to set up a resistance/terrorist organization to stymy Osea and the Allied Forces once the war ended. It's questionable whether AWWNB was Gault 1 going rogue or doing exactly as ordered. Either way, he attracted war weary soldiers to his cause. Sorcerer 1 and Wizard 1 would become the primary voices for the movement (In Operation Point Blank over Avalon Dam, whichever squadron leader you fought in the prior mission has a recorded speech playing over the radio to motivate their forces.) And Pixy, presumably because of his renowned piloting skills, was basically held in reserve (I actually don't know why he was on the XB-0) to pilot the Morgan, which would be the most advanced fighter of its time as well as house the backup V2 launch system just in case all else failed. The empty hanger in Operation Stone Age (Mount Schirm) is where the XB-0 was housed. By the time of the mission AWWNB has already launched it, leaving the massive domed hangar vacant by the time Galm Team arrives. Both Wizard 1 and Sorcerer 1 speak to Pixy in Operation Battle-Axe because they also have similar misgivings as he does. In his fight with you, Wizard squadron brings 8 fighters but their intro only shows the four F-16XL because he's using them as bait while pouncing on you with four YF-23A stealth fighters. In the end, due to the coup of the interim Belkan government as well as the defection of multiple Allied Forces squadrons, the whole incident is covered up. And Belka? Well, Belka keeps on Belka'ing.

So a fun fact since you asked during the game, Pops and Bartlet do actually appear in this game but only under certain conditions. They both appear on mission 10, but only if you play in the mercenary style. Bartlet is shown as a friendly mercenary and can be seen flying around from the start of the mission, while Pops (Colonel Wolfgang Buchner) as a hidden ace (hidden aces are shown as standard green planes on the map, but have a nickname when you target them). Pops only appears after the intro to the ace squadron (in fact they even acknowledge Pops as a fleeing pilot) and he will try to escape towards the south-east of the map. If you don't intervene in time Ashley Bernitz from the Grabacr squadron (the mythical 8492nd squadron in AC5) will shoot them both down, which is how they canonically met in the story of AC5. Bartlet is flying an F-14D under the callsign HTBRKONE, while Pops is flying a Mig-21 under the codename HUCKEBEIN.

And after a month I came back with a fresh mind and was able to beat it. Also Ive beaten the game on it's hardest setting. Im also glad someone told you about the head one approach. It really is key for this game. Also you face a few other aces if you play differently. And on Wizard squard you faced the YF-23 Black Widow planes they are stealth fighters and was the 2nd place against the F-22 for the US military. Also might note it was rumored to be the better plane in the majority of categories including stealth.

So you two had to dual to each other like knights with lancer of the Middle Age: charging to each other again and again and again, until one was fallen. When aero combet was appeared in WWI, pilots fought just like bring back knights' romance in old times, which was disappear after hot weapon and formation infantry appears. such as ‘round table’ and ‘avalon’ also suggest the old knight's legend romance concept.
