I have resisted Napoleonics because I didn't want to make my new and complete set of Ancients obsolete. During my third game, I thought how different it would be if I rolled fewer dice as the units died off and why can't my units retreat on there own. I spent a lot on Ancients and don't want to see it unplayed because Napoleon is actually better.

Why Portugal army and not Austrians, prussians or Russians?

Because those were already planned for their own expansions. This first set was mainly to include a lot of Peninsular battles.

I found the game a little to fiddly for my tastes as compared to ancients.

Why the British Army as the opponents to France? Of all the major combatants, they were present the least on land. Not to denigrate their undoubtedly pivotal role in propping up the reactionaries, of course, but I'm thinking the Austrians, Russians, or Prussians might have been better. At the very least, they'd give more possible historical scenarios.
