15 episodes into Blossom and it hasn't lost it's quality when it comes to lighting/cinematography, acting, and direction. This is the first time in a long while that a show hasn't slipped into what I call "studio" lighting for night/indoor scenes. They make the lighting look natural but slightly enhanced so you can still see and we aren't having a final season of GoTs situation. The light feels like it's coming from natural sources not just blanket overhead studio lights. The artistic direction hasn't lacked since jump. Highly recommend this one to those still debating whether or not to start watching.

Hi Marcus! Love your updates, hmmm might have to look at the drama box. I watched the first 4 episodes of Under the Skin 2 and they did not disappoint!! The story lines and acting are amazing. I cried already!! It's been a while since Shawn Dou was in a drama, looks interesting. I know there are lots of expectations from stars to be "perfect" in the real world and be role models, but everyone is human and makes mistakes. I must say I was shocked, but not really...these fans are rabid, about the poor guy walking slightly in front of Cheng Li, and one person says he out shines the star so they call for him to be fired! What the everlovin heck???? These kinds of fans cause more turmoil than any scandal...which they start!!! Shaking my head. Anyhoo, still loving We are criminal police, it's so good and I am starting Brocade Odyssey this week. We have had some lovely fall weather here in the south, so I have slacked off on watching dramas and going outside for events. On a way out in left field note, I went to see Wicked and WOW! If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. Hope the rest of your week is full of joy and health. JOY

Hi Marcus! Thanks for an informative update. I’m currently watching Blossom, We Are Criminal Police and Married. The report on Esther Yu portrayed her as a Diva. I wonder if there’s any truth to that or is she the next target for Chinese Netizens. My favorite actor throwing his cigarette out in the road is not cool. I’m glad he apologized to the public. Regarding Esther's new drama project, basically it's IQIYI at fault. There are a lot of protests online already regarding their ill treatment of their production crew. Short story of it, once filming started, the company dismissed the crew and replaced them with a new one. The dismissed crew was only paid around 12 days worth of pay, when in fact, they did 3 months worth of pre-production. Esther and the other actors found out, but now has no choice but to push through with the project since they've already signed the contract. IQIYI is just proving what a lousy company they are by making it seem like there are other dramas within the production, the truth is they are only detracting everyone's attention ftom all the protests being voiced against them at the moment. There are more translations online right now about the issue, and everyone's hoping Esther will not work with IQIYI anymore in the future.

Sometimes I listen to these updates and can’t even wrap my head around the insanity over people expecting these actors to be perfect??? They’re just people like everyone else and shouldn’t feel like they should make such an extreme statement of: “ I will strictly regulate my behavior and accept criticism and “supervision” from everyone” 😮😮. Uhhh….no. He’s a grown man who is allowed to make his own choices. Smoking is gross and definitely don’t toss it on the ground, but to feel “obligated” to publicly agree to chain and restrain his FREE WILL to be himself is ridiculous. I adore him just as he is. JOL is an all-time fave drama. The rabid obsession and unrealistic expectations, the clinging and feelings of “possession” are a side effect of living in a dualistic society that DEMANDS perfection while also restricting or monitoring every word or free creative expression, and the ability to truly LIVE any way you want to be happy. Alllllllll of that intense emotion that is suffocated has to go somewhere & sadly, it explodes all over other people that the depressed and suppressed see as the only joy in their lives. It’s VERY difficult to live your life in 100% strict self-control all the time so you don’t get in trouble, stressful and keeps one in a state of fear and agitated. Any release one can find to let out all their love, joy, excitement or, anger, resentment, even grief is an avenue many will take to cope with their unhappy lives. Fear and resentment are projected onto their heros they see as living the “best life”, then jealousy rears its ugly head and they lash out, happy to see their idols fall and suffer with them. Its an act of confusion and intense pent up emotion heartbreakingly directed at those who are only human too…. Forgiveness, compassion, empathy, awareness that these are “people” with flaws, desires, emotions, fears, dreams just like all of us, will free one from the constant battle for joy and contentment in life. Don’t keep looking for it in others, find it within yourself and follow your own passions. Having said all of that, they have no right to judge, shame, bully, demand anything from their idols. At the end of the day, no matter what country you live in, every person is a free, sovreign individual entitled to live their own lives however they choose. For the sake of these lovely people I really hope these harmful attitudes change soon.

Hi 👋; Started UTS 2 and it’s good so far. I just hope they don’t turn ML into someone morally gray or an antagonist by the end. Tried watching Taotie and couldn’t do it; the CGI was way too bright, and the story telling itself even for one episode was just all over the place. Really wanted to watch for WYS so a bit disappointed. Glad the eternal fragrance past review. And blossom is doing very well! Both leads are very awesome in their roles and their chemistry is great and the plot so far I don’t want to jinx it is also well done. Thanks.
