Loving Blossom with Li Yun Rui and Meng Zi Yi. LYR's acting is good. MZY is looking sweet and gorgeous. The plot is interesting so far without those draggy scenes. Looking forward to Rebirth.

The richest poor guy looks to be something out of the ordinary, especially served by Peng Yu chang, whose acting is refreshing. The song and dance of FOF was a pleasure to watch at each episode, and the OST as a whole was stirringly beautiful. Liu Yuning's inhabitual song was special too.

Thanks for the update Marcus, Deep Lurk at 7.1 is well deserved for a modest budget drama that was on the shelf for so long due to its intriguing and addictive storyline. Brocade Odyssey's plot is not that special but its well written and the acting by both leads is excellent, the 6.0 should have room to go up by a bit. I have been super busy no time to finish See Her Again or check out I Am Criminal Police. The one that I think is going to surprise and delight among the currently airing dramas is Blossom. So nice to see fresh new directing talent debut so well. Hope the storyline holds up till the end.

I loved Later I Laughted for its laid back script good character development and no usual tropes or propaganda. Blossom seems like a smartest (next to Revenge of the Reborn Princess) time jump/return to own lifetime story this year. Hoping it will hold beyond the 9 episodes I love already

They released it with 4000 votes. For some works, they keep it locked until a satisfied rating is achieved before releasing. Live ratings like maoyan, ky, cvb(for tv series) are more reliable

Hi Marcus. And here it comes again. The douban ratings. Smile code and Later I laughed are on similar lines so I cud have accepted both ratings on same level which is 6.6. Haven't watched Deep lurk and See her again so no comments. Rest I quite agree with the ratings. Was looking forward for Brocade Odyssey but the plot is a mixture of many dramas as seen before. One can predict the outcomes. We are criminal police is good but at times solving a case takes lot of episodes which is kind of dragging. But it reveals how procedures and investigation methods improved from yesteryear to now. So it is interesting.

All I can say is "Deep Lurk" just doesn't stop with the suspense and action. I'm on Ep 22 and not one episode has been a filler. I have to admit that I'm not really into Republican dramas, but every now and then, one comes along... I also started "Married" Ep 5, despite the knot in my stomach knowing that it's a cheating husband drama. But I'm hoping for a really good revenge plot. The last one I really enjoyed was "Alliance". The other drama I'm enjoying is "Undercover Affair", it's ten-minute shorties so it's easy to binge through this action-packed suspense drama. ML is Leo Yang, who also plays Zhang Fang in "Pretty Boy" But in UA, he plays a very hot undercover cop. Well fellow Dramalanders, see you all on Tuesday. Marcus, waiting for the next batch of news. Hi Marcus, For me, See Her Again is about 7.5 in the Cantonese version. I'm waiting for more episodes of Blossom before starting. I can't wait because I want to see Li YunRui as ML and no longer a Steve :). I want to check out Deep Lurk at some point too. Brocade's rating should be higher and perhaps it'll go up as more episodes are shown. I'm concerned at the low number of ratings, though.

Blossom is good and the first life was only relegated to a bit of the first episode and is said to be a dream. Other than the wicked step monster who I ffw, it’s got good leads and support. B&W forest is good acting wise, but the plot is a bit messy. Looking forward to UTS 2 very much and going to check out the Taotie thing too; can’t believe it was filmed 6 years ago but is only dropping now. That Riverside thing keeps dropping videos and pics so will probably premiere soon too. I dropped Smile Code as you know so I would have actually lowered that one and Hidden Clouds was right on point. I don’t know how I feel about the PA 2, though ppl are saying it’s a prequel not a sequel. It’s been too long. I watched all 10.5 hours of IQIY’s scream night and let me tell you, I think Hengdian was empty give or take a few ppl lol. Loved the performances of the entire FOF cast and LYN’s finale medley. Congratulations to all the winners. I’m very proud of LYN because this is the second award that recognizes him as an actor as opposed to only a singer. And a journey to love and two other dramas don’t remember which entered the IQIY Hall of Fame. It was cool! Thank you!

Looking forward to Under the Skin 2, I enjoyed the 1st season. I rarely watch modern dramas, I seems to stick more to Costume or Historical type. Under the Skin 1 was one of modern dramas that I watched and enjoyed.

Hi Marcus! I started Blossom out of curiosity, and I'm hooked. The story is not that simple, since FL literally went back in time with her memory intact, and tries to prevent some future events. However we are still to learn if it's just the past, or ML went back with his memories intact as well. Very intriguing). I tried Brocade Odyssey, but dropped it after 2 episodes. IMO the quality of the drama is not that good, and Seven IMO already looks too mature to take such roles. I'm not sure what to think of "PA2" reboot yet. I can't imagine that with the new actress, an underaged girl, they would be able to take the original material. There are kissing scenes, bed scenes, family scenes- it won't be possible to go into it with a minor as a lead. Also, I may sound like a "dinosaur", but in my mind there are only one Chu Qiao and Yuwen Yue😊. After watching PA I read the rest of the novel keeping ZLY and LGX in my mind, so it's irreversible ❤. I'll continue watching Blossom, while waiting for When the phone rings new episodes to come.

Well Rebirth Princess Agents 2 sounds interesting! Atleast the characters were well casted keeping resemblance with the main characters of the 2017 Smash hit! It’s only right the female lead is perfect for the role since she played the younger version of 2017 and she has truly blossomed into another Zhao Liying since she has always looked like her. However I don’t think this is a continuation since the characters look way too young, maybe the earlier days before the events in Princess agents 1. And if yes then that is ok too… but I w’d still have preferred the original cast to reprise their roles and give us another smash hit

Brocade Odyssey ranking is too low. It's well produced, great cast, plot does get a bit draggy in parts with FL being kidnapped several times but FL and ML pull it off in terms of great acting so its still quite an ejoyable watch. Introduces us to the silk dyeing and brocade trade as well.

Deep Lurk/See Her Again - totally fair ratings. They are both really watchable and tense dramas. Brocade Odyssey should have more.. it's not what it seems and the storyline is thrilling.

I skipped 10 episodes as it could not hold my interest and still I found it boring.We are criminal police and black and white forest is very interesting. I saw all the episodes available at one go . All the platforms give awards to the actors who acted in their dramas with special attention given to to those who are signed to their agency. They just create titles to fit everyone in. It is mostly a redcarpet event where you wear the latest HCs and the fans admire you

The latest 'crop' of Douban ratings illustrates clearly that there are no established parameters that must be met before a rating is made public. The release of a rating when a serial with a historial setting is not even half way thru its narrative run is suspicious indeed. In contrast that for A Beautiful Lie came out well after the serial had completed its full screening (to a disappointingly vague ending). Seasoned viewers of CDrama would have learnt that the story progression of "historicals" follows a well known "pattern" ... proceedings perk up only during the "home run" of the serial. In the case of Brocade Odyssey not only came out early but the voting sample is also "surprisingly" small. The mechanisn behind the Douban rating is simply too opaque for anyone to take the rating as a nugget of bible truth. Methinks that the Douban rating in most cases is a "marketing" tool in invisable hands. Very rarely it is also coincidentally a reliable indicator of the "artistic" merit of a serial

I don't know how I feel about a romance show having the ML being 11 years older while the FL is still a minor. Age gaps happen, but a minor...either they are going to have to keep it slow burn/chaste or they are going to be weird and I'm going to have to side eye them.
