Great tips. I first look to see if it is attractive enough visually. If so, then I check it out unplugged and check the neck and see if I like the feel. The neck thickness, frets, etc,. It must be not too far and not too thin. Then I want to know how the pickups sound. Also, does it stay in tune and how easy is it to use the trem since I like Trems. If it passes those tests and it sounds good thru my 60 watt combo tube amp, then it has potential. ♥️🤘

It sounds great. I totally agree with the must sound good acoustically. Like you said you should be able to tell if it is worth plugging in 30 seconds. What pickups are in your new guitar? The PAF pairs so nicely with the neck pickup. No noticeable volume changes from neck to bridge. Is the neck pickup over wound? Or is it a very low output PAF?

Hard to explain online. Just ry to get the best contact between the tip of your fretting finger and the string, and use a verylight touch unless you are bending. Hope that helps.

All amps are turned up between half and full volume. You can use a VariSucker Power attenuator or a 5 Watt Tube Amp if volume is a problem.
