Bonsoir Guys n Girls...This video is not in any way trying to be the "definitive" list of what you need for racing these awesome little RC cars but it's designed to be a good starting point of what I could think of ....

@@BrensRCracing it really was, I’m not new to RC but me and the young lad are gonna start racing Kamtec locally so it was good to get a run down of what to expect.

My advice to beginners regarding radio transmitters, get yourself one that has model memory, I've learned this from aero modelling, having to bind and set up different planes each time I wanted to fly is an absolute ballache, having model memory on the Tx saved so much faff at the field, the same goes for cars, each one may have a different set up and having to mess about at the track with settings is a right pain, also you might not get it exactly right each time. Thank me later 😊

Brill video again, not essential at first but once you've tried it and you're hooked, BRCA membership, doesn't cost much and includes insurance etc. :)

Honestly it varies mate ...when i started i re-purposed an old plastic tool box....which then got upgraded to a bigger and better tool box as the amount pf spares and bits i used grew ...Now I'm on version 2 of a wooded box with custom draws and lights and crap that's really over kill if I'm honest but ...i like it...hope this helps

Tyre additive... my understanding is that where it is banned it is to stop it being applied, and then while still damp the additive being scrubbed off into the carpet. What are your thoughts on applying additive at home, days before you go racing so they're bone dry, but softened and improved ..

@@paulgeddert6125 honestly if its banned then this is going against the "spirit" of racing to bend the rule by applying days before... I get that Racers will always look for that competitive edge wherever it can be found but its toy car racing we are not making a living from this and therefore nothing really is on the line here so my thoughts are don't use it..... Besides there is a quiet satisfaction front beating someone who you know is fracturing the odd rule when your not... Great question mate thanked for the channel support 👍👍👍

So after a few weeks of building and getting everything that I may need to go racing it happened, people at the club absolutely brilliant, everyone that I got to speak to had some sort of information or tips, even looked over car to see if anything could be done, loved every minute of the racing and surprised myself by finishing 2nd in the b final don’t even know how that happened haha, thanks again for your video, I had everything that was needed to complete the nights racing

I found when I started I went through handset batteries (AA’s) coz I kept forgetting to turn it off as I was concentrating on so many new things.

Good one Rob, it felt like the rounds on a night came round really fast too when i'd started ....some tape around your controller too to help it stand out as i remember picking up the some one else's by mistake who had the same as me ....couldn't for the life of me work out why my car wasn't working 🤦‍♂🤦‍♂👍👍
