In case you don't know - ''Frontschwein'' is German military slang for a soldier who spent that much time fighting in war that he has gone insane. It's usually used when talking about soldiers that are obviously traumatized already but keep going back. Also the term ''Schwein'' literally means ''pig'', so it's very likely linked to the way infantry soldiers crawl and dig out positions getting into contact with a lot of mud - Just like pigs. So, there is some kind of story, after all. The song describes the struggle of these war-burdened and insane men.

Nice reaction. Marduk is fucking badass. You should check out their song blonde beast or check out another band called mgła if you haven't, it's also black metal but a different style to Marduk.

Nice review. I wrote a book "Stalingrads engel" The angel of Stalingrad published only in Danish. However, I used Marduk as inspiration when writing this book. The ferocity, the speed, the chaos the visual images is very good to grasp the madness of war. It is what this song is about - madness and the madness felt by the ones who were the frontschwein, who were fed to the guns and canons. Anyway, nice review. I always respect people listening to music that lies outside their taste.
