I have listened to a lot of cosmic black metal; this is some of the best. It not only brings forth interesting musical ideas, both poetic and violent, but it builds them up with powerful harmony and instrumentation, and develops them well beyond the endless repetition that is so common in the genre. It is never dull; it absorbs you from start to finish, and then you wonder where those 50 minutes went.

Cosmic black is one of my top 5 favorite subgenres from the entire metal, this is just phenomenal and sadly this subgenre is way too underrated considering it got artists like aeonus, darchon and mare cognitum inside it.

This album has one of the strongest openers of any black metal album I've heard. It's up there with Wolves in the Throne Room's 'Celestial Lineage,' for sure. Pure, savage beauty.

This is what I imagined Black Metal to sound like when I first searched up black metal. And boy was I disappointed when "Under a Freezing Moon" sounded completely different from what I imagined. Don't get me wrong, Mayhem is nice but music like this is a whole other atmosphere and in my opinion the best Black Metal can sound like.

It's because you weren't looking for what you wanted. It's atmospheric black metal. DSBM is also black. Check out Inferno,(gnosis kardias, and then Paradeigma), unique band with a unique sound.
